Thoughts anyone?

i don't think it's any big deal. a lot of top prospects don't do the combine workouts every year.
better to be safe and not run on a foot that's still feeling pain.
he's already considered a top 3 wr and a 1st rounder, he has less to gain by running a poor 40 than to lose by not running it.
people know he's fast. they just have to wait til the osu pro day to attatch a number to it.

I didn't think it was a big deal either, I'm just curious as to what he runs the 40 in. However, I am perplexed by the fact that you believe Ginn is a top 3 reciever over Meachem.

i said he's considered a top 3 receiver. of all the mock drafts i've looked through, only one has him fourth. everyone else has him second or third. with him already being considered that high, he doesn't need to workout at the combine, that was the point.
however, i personally do have him ahead of meachem.

Meh, he can't run routes, can't block, can't really do anything a pro reciever is asked for. It simply amazes me how much money this guy is going to get for being fast.

I dont't think it matters, people know what he can do with his speed, but I'm surprised hes not running it

He can pretty much do whatever because he knows he is going to get drafted anyway

Ginn's not running it because he knows he can't run as fast as everyone thinks he can. He can't run a 4.2 or 4.3, so running a 4.4 would only hurt his stock, where as it'll probably hurt it less if he chooses not to run. Smart move, IMO.

randy moss isn't exactly a percise route runner, nor is he a great blocker (or a blocker at all). Does that make him a bad reciever?
Ginn can run, and he's got good hands. Not everyone's a blocking WR like Hines Ward is, for example.

he's still gonna run, just not at the combine. they'll be able to time him at the osu pro day. his foot's still fucked up.
i think he can run a 4.4 and be alright. his stock will plummet though if it's any higher than that.

he's pretty much not in the combine, b/c he doesn't want to fuck his foot up anymore...has nothing really to do where he thinks he'll fall in the draft. if he hadn't hurt his ankle, he'd be running at the combine

Hines Ward is a bit better, but Plax is very good. Damn those current and former Steelers receivers.
In my opinion I hear one sound coming from this thread, and that's the sound of Ginn's stock dropping. I will shoot myself if he drops to the Pats and Belichick decides that getting another receiver who will drop passes is a good idea.

i agree here. though in his defense, he's definitely one of the guys with what they call "game speed" which guys like deion had. he can just all of a sudden turn it on and blow past everyone with ease.

Plax is clearly the best tackling receiver after a pass thrown to him gets picked. CLEARLY

i wouldnt want randy moss on my team, so imo he is a bad reciever. also moss has the size that ginn doesnt have, ginn wont be able to run by CBs like he did in college hes gonna get thrown around.

Although Ben Watson made the best tackle by a receiver/tight end ever. Mainly because it took him to run about 108 yards before hand to do it, but I love it nonetheless.

Ginn shouldnt be a first rounder based on speed alone. He'll be a bust at WR.

plus, hester's more than fast. he's got great moves as well - he's not a great corner, but his moves/acceleration are nuts.

i agree. and i've been saying this way before he decided to come out. i mean he can be fast, but he has so much to work on when it comes to receiver skills.
he'll be a return specialist for someone, and that's about it

Oh, I know. I agree that I don't think Ginn will ever be a great NFL reciever, I'm just saying that a WR doesn't have to be a Hines Ward blocker, run like a gazelle and have Jerry Rice's hands to be a very good one.
I just don't think Ginn will be any of that.
plax is worthless.
As a michigan state fan, i cannot stand plexico. I refuse to call him "Plaxico" since it was plexico when he was at MSU. I never liked him in college and don't like him in the pro's.
