you know i was like alot of people and just though of this band as disgusting since they appealed to the goth kids. since i figured well if those kinds of kids like them then geez then this band must suck but then i took the time to listen to city evil after hearing bat city and i found they're not that band. Also, they have great musicians in the band so you gotta respect that.

City of Evil is what got me hooked, but I can't stop listening to Waking the Fallen. I like what I've heard from Sounding the Seventh Trumpet too....how can you really pick: each cd is sounds so unique compared to the others, but they still scream A7X style.




p.s. they aren't posers for being in the GC video, they happen to be good friends with that band since they toured together years ago.

They're actually not that talented. At all. No joke. It's really easy to make that kind of music.

Waking the Fallen is my favorite, still a good CD. Seventh Trumpet is also good. The new one is awful.

....This one is very very close IMO between Waking The Fallen and City Of Evil. Both very solid albums...everyone hates the new one cause he can't scream anymore, and I liked his singing voice better on Waking The Fallen....but I went with City of Evil cause thats what got me into them and I wasn't into the screaming part of his voice as much

Heard the song 'Unholy Confessions' and was hooked on Waking the Fallen. Best A7X album in my opinion. Couldnt wait for City of Evil to hit stores and when I first heard it... I hated it. Then I listened to it some more... and still hated it.

their image ruined them...i feel like i have to be a closet fan, to not strike up arguments with ppl who arent worth speaking to. lyrics arent that good, music is music, and if u dig jammin to it, u dig it...not worth it to insult ppl for liking a band when 95% of the people who dislike them do so because of image and affiliation with bands like good charlotte and atreyu...deal with it...waking the fallen is the most solid

I would LOVE Avenged Sevenfold if they had a different persona, attitude, and lead singer. Those vocals are terrible. But, to say the band isnt talented is ludacris. Those guitar players fucking slay, and their drummer is amazing.

i have only heard 4 songs and 3 of them are from city of evil so i chose that one but i want to listen to more of their stuff cuz they are good from what i can tell

i think it was them but idk that i saw at warped in 2005 they sounded a lot like them..it was before i really knew any of their songs...

I personally don't give a flying fuck what bands look like or what they do/hang out with, as long as the musics good. To many their music isn't good but I can't help but feel most the people I see bash them have heard Bat Country seen the stupid video and base their opinion solely on that. I can certainly see why most people here wouldn't like them or their music, and I respect that, it's just kind of obnoxious how unfair and cheap a lot of the bashing is.

well i agree i don't give a damn how they look or anything like that, i just like listening to music, i have only heard the city of evil cd and it has good songs like bat country, beast and the harlot, seize the day and trashed and scattered. people just give critics to them but they are good, at least they are not that bad as some other bands. if you ask me they are pretty good, oh and if you don't like the bad, to start with why do you even take the time to post comments?

I think these poll results speak pretty loudly, though. Avenged Sevenfold is not very good - to say the least - and people recognize that.
