Emocore screaming?

Anyone know how to do screams like Chiodos or Underoath? I can only belt out death metal screams and high-pitched hardcore screams. I wanna learn how to do more 'throaty' ones.

those bands aren't emo.

emo screams are high pitched.

throaty ones are by shitty metalcore bands.

there's a dvd called The Zen of Screaming by Melissa Cross. it's like 30 bucks or something, but it has a lot of good information about how to scream without messing up your vocal chords. her website also has info about it.

the hardest is death metal growl/scream...the really deep ones. But the high/middle pitched ones are easy.

yeah, the early SOV vocals sounded like donald duck or whatever. the music was amazing...i just didnt dig the vocals. their later stuff was great all around though.
