wow....I just downloaded a demo of conor oberst when he was thirteen. suprisingly good stuff considering his age.

I am in love with them too and desaparecidos, cursive, azure ray,......damn saddle creek is an awesome label.

Ya, you are right. He was like 15 when he was in Commander Venus, so it must have just been his solo stuff.

Jerry my friend, I use to feel the same way. I suggest buying the Desaparecidos album, if you haven't already. After you really get into it, buy Fevers and Mirrors. I promise that your opinions will change.

i am a girl that enjoys shows. mosh pits, loud crowds etc. also, i like bright eyes. now, ive seen them twice. its dandy and all, but christ, I WANT TO SEE DESAPARECIDOS. you still get conor, but its an actual BAND. with GUITARS. none of that OBOE ... WIND INSTRUMENT stuff. CHIMES. gah

no really i do love bright eyes but sometimes, i mean, if anyones liked them for a while and you see kids like OMGZ CONOR is AWESUM 4RIL. like, its annoying. its cool that they like it, if they honestly do... but.. conor isnt the only person in bright eyes. my point is to not take away from the credit conor is given, but add to the credit the other performers deserve.

You can't really compare Conor in Bright Eyes to Conor in Desaparecidos. They are two totally different acts. Desaparecidos is more politically driven while Bright Eyes is more of him orchestrating poetry into songs.

And yes, Conor IS Bright Eyes, he just invites different friends to play with him live and on each album.

Also, I doubt Desaparecidos will be touring at all in the future. Conor is recording this fall, he is on tour now, will tour after he releases the album, so it could be a while.

yes .. im in love with bright eyes... and saddle creek ... bright eyes cursive desaparecidos rilo kiley and now its overhead are on the top of my favorite bands

yep, i'm also a saddle creek lover. Pretty much whatever is on the label, i like. Bright eyes, cursive, rilo kiley, the good life, the faint, azure ray, ahhh it's all so good.

oh, and favorite bright eyes song is going for the gold. I love the flute in it. Or oboe, whatever the hell the wind instrument in it is.
