West Coast Winter Tour Review/set list
02-20-07
okay so I've never done one of these before so I'll do my best. here's my take on the show.
first impressions.
the jack's crowd was mostly what i expected.
largly teeni bopping suburban girls with ugg boots on (except for the ones who decided to play dress up and dared to put on chucks.) many wasted no time throwing their newly purchased jack's shirts. the guys all looked the same. american eagle, aeropostal and volcom clad beach bumbs. of course this doesn't hold true for everyone there. but definitly fit the majority. i perticulary enjoyed the girls in front of me who insisted on taking as many pictures as possible in between sets. ii insisted on finding my way into each and every one. yeah i got bored.
oh and I'd like to take the oppurtunity to rant about "that tall guy." he always finds his way in front of me ! dammit. haha
We Are The Fury.
Review:
this was my first encounter of WAF. I've never heard of them, much less one of their songs. i walked into the venue towards the end of their set, so i won't say to much about their set, but they seemed to try their best to get thecrowd pumped, but this seemed futile. they even brought daryll pulumbo out to help sing a whole song. i was shocked to see that not many people there knew who he was much less his of his contributions to this music scene. they finished with a ballad called "gratified." this seemed to really motivate the crowd as they had not been since. i cant post a set list because i am not familiar with them enough to recognize their songs, sorry.
theAUDITION
Review:
the one time i seen the audition prior to tonight was back in august at a bar in philly. they blew me away with they're awesome energetic live performance. they also turned out to be really nice guys who hung out on the stage RIGHt after the show until security started to make people leave. my second time seeing them (tonight) was not a disappointment. they put on a great show and REALLY got the crowd into it. three songs into the set, they played "warm it up", a new song which was really good. super catchy and really fit them well. front man, danny, really kept the crowd involved throughout the show.
they definitly did not disappoint. The audition is fun times.
Set List:
You've Made Us Conscious
Dance Halls Become Ghost Towns
Its Too Late
Warm Me Up(new song)
Smoke And Mirrors
Approach The Bench
Dont Be So Hard
Head Automatica
Review:
head automatica seemed to be a great live band. I've always heard good things about their energy and exlosive live show. i was not lied to. HA brought a lot to the stage and sounded dead on. daryll is always fun to wach and the guys look to be having tons of fun on the stage. they did not disappoint. " beating hearts baby " really got the crowd going. i only have a partial set list, but the songs i DO have listed appear in chronological order.
Partial Set List: (sorry, i missed at least 5 songs, probably more)
Graduation Day
Laughing At you
Oxycontin
Curious
Lying Through Your Teeth
Beating Hearts Baby
Jack's Mannequin
Review:
There are no words for this live show. Just simply amazing. Andrew is so good with the crowd. He sings so well and his band is so taleneted. The confettii at the end really was a nice touch too. Its looked amazing against the spectacular colorful lighting backdrop. Everything was dead on. Just a wonderful time. I Highly reccomend this tour.
