nah. this is very very old news. in 2004, 4 members got together (the others joined up in fax arcana and other bands) and recorded some really shitty songs that sounded nothing like usurp synapse. they claimed they were going to release a new cd, but 3 years later, it still has yet to see light of day and as far as i know, there is no new info. unless you know something else, and thats what this thread deals with. i have to say, this band and their last stuff on disinformation fix blew(like the first 8 tracks). and they had 2 new songs up on their myspace or whatever, but they were terrible as well.

yeah the new Usurp songs blow, and yeah i agree with the thread, the their last 8 or so songs were very sub-par for a otherwise amazing band

its alright, like almost everything else with that band, they had to make things complicated. take disinformation fix, for example, that collection is a train wreck, and i really hate it. the first 8 songs blow, they renamed a bunch, took out the keyboards in a bunch of them, and just plain old changed songs around. listen to the "truth about pyecraft" on any other disc, then listen to it on disinformation fix. its completely different. they combined the last 2 songs on the split with hassan i sabbah as well. dont get me wrong, i love this band more than almost anything, but they fucked up terribly bad on disinformation fix, so much so, i cant even listen to it. blah.

Yeah, I noticed that too. At first I thought it was just my memory of the songs that sucked.

the drummer turned out to be a woman beater and harasser and completely out of his mind, and due to an incident involving this they got dropped from the label that was going to put it out and he got kicked out of fax and usurp

yeah, i remember reading about that. also, fax got dropped from silver bullet, and they moved all the way to baltimore when they signed. sucks for them. but i have read some stuff about the guys in usurp, and some of them are pretty shady guys, like the drummer.
