will end up with the most Oscar nominations/wins by the end of their career? (Yes, I know some of these people aren't exactly young, but...you know what I mean.)

Earlier today, I probably would have said Christian Bale. After seeing the Departed, I had to go for Mark Wahlberg.

Leonardo by far. Purely because he picks the right movies that typically appeal to the Oscars and he's already got 3. And obviously he's extremely talented as well.

I think Damon has a long and good career ahead of him. He could rack up the most.

Exactly. Plus I think he'll be around longer than anybody else on that list.

Leo is such a good actor and as the person above said. He picks all the right movies and plays the role perfectly or nearly

I chose Edward Norton- Leo Dicaprio and Christian Bale were tagging close behind, and also we've known Leo was good since Gilbert Grape which was like 14 years ago not that Edward Norton's been around much shorter

Bale and Bernal.

I agree with this. I also think we'll see good things out of Ryan Gosling and Jake Gyllenhaal.

he's not my favorite on the list probably, but leo easily

Clive Owen is 43, so I cannot participate in a young actors list that includes him. But for young actors, I'll go with Gosling because he is a) actually young (26), and b) he's amazing. This is going to seem like an odd conceit, but his voice is strange for a Oscar esque actor. He just doesn't sound like one, which is an awfully strange thing to say now that I'm saying it.

I went with Owen, the guy knows what he's doing and is the best actor on that list if you ask me.

Leo is the best actor on the list, but I'm personally trying to exclude 30+ year old actors.

Owen just clicks for me. It may be because I just saw Children of Men and Blood Diamond and I liked CoM better, but they're both solid actors.

I was actually rooting for Owen to get the Bond role but after seeing how Craig turned out I'm glad he didn't.

I think the right choice is Leo, so I went with him. Like other people have said, he already has 3 and he seems to be catching fire now.

Ideally I'd like to see Clive Owen and Ed Norton be recognized the most because they're probably my favorite (and most talented imo) two actors on the list.

Shia Lebouf is the only actor on this list who can actually be classified as young. Ryan Gosling and Elijah Wood are pretty close, though. Jamie Bell gets my vote.

norton and owen are 2 of my favorite actors.

im not even gonna include caprio because he shouldnt be in this poll. hes an accomplished A list actor, and a huge star.

personally i would like it to be Christian Bale or Clive Owen. both underrated actors that have been hitting it big over the last year.

Gyllenhaal is great as well. those 3 are probably my favorite male leads. if a movie has them in it chances are they will put out a great performance and the movie will have interesting subject matter.

i picked gosling because he makes bad movies ok (murder by numbers), ok movies good (the notebook), good movies great (the believer), and great movies my #1 of the year (half nelson).

I can't decide. Gosling/Wahlberg/Gyllenhaal/Damon/Norton.

Agreed.

Di Caprio will end up with the most nominations and Oscars at the end of his career just because Bale and Bernal seem to take roles that never get them nominated.

joseph gordon-levitt should have been included on this list, i can't believe i forgot him. his performances in mysterious skin and especially brick were incredible.

I wouldn't call him a "young" actor, although he is younger than Clive Owen(by a year, I checked on IMDb!). Anyway, one that should be up there is Robert Downey, Jr. He's such a talented actor, but his personal demons have overshadowed his professional gifts. I'm hoping he can earn an Oscar or two in his career.

Well put. Though I prefer his performance in the Believer, I think Half Nelson was a better film (due in large part to Epps). The Believer was Goslings film completely. The other parts in that film, in my opinion, were for the most part poorly written, which I think shed even more light on Gosling's amazing performance.

Shia LaBeouf sucks and I'm pissed they casted him as Indiana Jones' son.
