he is the most overated person in the history of music. i don't know why a bunch of people listen to him. i think he's one of those trendy artists to listen to in college like phish, dave mathews, or widespread panic. you have to listen to those bands to fit in or something.

he got cancer in his toe and because he was a rastafarian he couldnt amputate it. its part of his religion. so it spread throughout his body.




and yeah i can see how its almost a 'cool' thing to like bob marley. a lot of people say they like him just to fit in.



but bob marley did so much for so many people, you have to realize that. he was fucking awesome.

yea, i know that, but i figured that since every organized religion is full of hypocracies and contradictions, i'd put mine out in the front, lemmy from motorhead is also god, along with joey ramone.

anyway, marley was not only one of the most influential artists in modern music, he was also a revolutianary, and was singing political songs long before the days of anti-flag and bands of the like, the fact is most of the bands people on this board listen to wouldn't exist without him. so whether it's 'cool' or not, he is simply amazing. and even if you don't like his music, you have to at a minimum, recognize and respect his impact on music and modern life in general.
