Rise Against
Review :
i went into this show really excited to see Rise Against. I only knew a few songs, and punk isnt normally my cup of tea, but i was still stoked to see them live for the first time. I really liked how up-beat and fast paced they were, and how they managed to emulate this really fast sound on the stage. The really worked the crowd. I could tell that a good number of people were there for them, but alot of people were really rude and didnt pay much attention. maybe its just me, but i always try to give the opening acts fair chances, and it usually turns out to be worth it. anyway, Tim sounded really awesome. He gave a nice message right before " Prayer Of The Refugee " about our troops and the war in Iraq. This was their final song and easily, my personal favorite. I only wish i was more familiar with them before i went, but i really enjoyed their set. Rise Against fans (old and new) should be quite impressed.

Set List :
Behind Closed Doors
Chamber The Cartridge
Injection
Ready To Fall
Survive
The Good Left Undone
Blood To Blood
Give It All
Dancing For Rain
Prayer Of The Refugee

The Black Parade
Review :
The lights went out and the crowd errupted. The sound of a heart monitor and a vauge strumming guitar could be heard from the backround. A stretcher was rolled onto the stage, occupied by none other then Gerard Way. He sat up on the stretcher slowly as he began to sing the beggining of The End. After The first verse, a black curtain dropped revaling the rest of the band in their signature Black Parade uniforms and ghostly white faces. They continued to play in front of a huge backdrop in the form of old, broken looking house. They began marching their way through " The Black Parade " in order the the tracklisting on the CD. After The Sharpest Lives, Gerard introduced the 6th member of the Black Parade, On the keyboard, James Duwees, Referring to him as his big brother. Not many people knew who he was, but he got quite an ovation from me. Next, As the piano intro Welcome To The Black Parade rang out through the arena, A Enormous Black And White Blimp Floated up into the air on the side of the stage. They ripped through their hit single, ending it in a shower of black and white over the crowd with fire shooting 12 feet into the air in the background. It was truley breathtaking. A spectacle like ive never seen at a show. They then marched through the rest of the CD. Cancer was a very emotional moment. Alot of people in the crowd were crying or were at least visably shaken. The crowd was really into Teenagers and House Of Wolves as well.
After Teenagers, Gerard announced that the Black Parade was coming to an end and that he thought that somehting by be coming up next. After playing my personal favorite, disenchanted, Gerard introduced the crowd to Guitarist Ray Torro's mother. He then lead the crowd in singing happy birthday to her, which i thought was nice. THe ended their set as The Black Parade with Famous Last Words, again utilizing their Pyro int he backround and really rocking the house. Everyone was going nuts. They exited the stage and the hidden track, Blood, Began to play over the speakers.

Set List:
The End
Dead!
This Is How I Disappear
The Sharpest Lives
Welcome To The Black Parade
I Don't Love You
House Of Wolves
Cancer
Mama
Sleep
Teenagers
Disenchanted
Famous Last Words

My Chemical Romance
Review :
Shortly after exiting the stage, the returned in front of the classic "revenge" backdrop and sporting a older look. Gerard traded in his Marching COat for a Leather Jacket and introduced My Chemical Romance. Me, having never been a fan of MCR's older stuff, was'nt to excited for this portion of the show, but i enjoyed myself regardless. They ripped through old fan favorites sounding beter then ever, and the crowd really seemed to be into this. Halfway through the set, Gerard dispelled a rumor he heard over in the UK that MCR was an " Emo Goth Cult " Stating that " My Chemical Romance has never encouraged you to do anything but be yourself and not taking anybodys shit ! "
All the songs sounded really good, and they seemed to enjoy playing them. Despite not being a huge fan of Old School My Chem, This still turned out to be pretty cool to watch.

Set List :
Im Not Okay
Honey, This Mirror Isn't Big Enough For The Two Of Us
Cemetary Drive
Ghost Of You
Give Em' Hell Kid
Thanks For The Venom
You Know What They Do To Guys Like Us In Prison
Helena

This was such a great show to watch. They sounded dead on and the production on it was unlike anything i have ever seen. Wether your a huge My Chemical Romance Fan Or A Huge The Black Parade Fan, your gonna enjoy this. It was really a spectacle and unlike anything ive ever seen. Belive the hype, this tour is amazing.

Great review. It's getting me excited! I was gonna see them at Edgefest in Dallas, but I've decided to make a trip to Houston to see the real show.

after being undecided about whether or not to buy myself tickets, this has kind of persuaded me to go. even though i don't adore them, the show itself sounds stunning.
