This pic, and myers overall look, has got me genuinely excited for this movie. AICN's negative script review had me worried, but that was a very early draft of the script, so who knows.

I like that poster, it's similar to the poster for the 2003 remake of TCM. Though i would like to see a poster where myers is more under-stated. But since Zombie wants myers as the main character its understandable.

Yeah, I just don't want zombie to rely on shock value with blood and gore like he did with ho1k and devils rejects. That's not what Halloween was about. it was about suspense, mood, and atmosphere.

I was so disappointed with the script review. And he IS too big in the picture, really. I was blah about it....
Then I realized I have to look at this as Rob Zombie's Halloween, instead of hoping for a direct remake of Halloween (if that makes sense) - as long as I tell myself not to compare the two too much then it shouldn't be a problem (and that's only if the movie isn't awesome anyway).

that's not what he's saying. michael myers wasn't a huge dude in the original halloween movies (of course, neither was jason, but he got totally jacked by about part seven), but in this one, the guy playing michael is like, 7 foot something. and apparently he's supposed to talk? which is just fucking stupid.

I dont think adult michael is supposed to talk, its young michael. And zombie knows the fans reverance towards the original. He said this is less of a remake, and more of a reimagining. That said, the script review was very dissapointing

Yea, i agree michael shouldnt talk regardless. He should be crazy for the sake of being crazy and not because he was abused and whatnot. If this is better than the 7 sequels (which isnt very hard) then i will be happy.

So this is a re-imaging? I saw the script review and I wasn't pleased. The original Halloween is my all-time favorite horror movie for reasons RZ is looking to change. I hope they don't give Michael speaking parts, thats the whole point of his evil being.. He's nothing but pure evil.

meh, i'm more of a friday the 13th fan although i hear they are doing a reimagining of that too (which is lame imo). i wish they would stop trying to tell the origins of these characters or making the sequels into movies with plots. with that being said, i hope zombie pulls this off. myers looks good.

Agreed. Not my point though. My point is that you need more than a mask to make a good movie based on MM. Especially the first movie, the one that's supposed to establish him. If the story sucks or the character is ridiculous (And, reading the script review, he borderline is) no mask, no matter how awesome or true to the original, will be the saving grace.

Gotta love how everyone ripped on this movie when that script leaked (Which I didn't read), but now the pics are coming in they are getting excited for it again. I always had faith this movie would be good. Rob got John Carpenter's blessing, so hopefully it will be awesome.
And yeah, Michael looks badass in that first pic.

Michael Myers is the God of the slasher movement, but the guy was right. In the original Halloween, Myers was documented at roughly 6'1 200 lbs. In several of the following sequels (and apparently in this remake), he is depicted as the monstrous goliath of a man, like Jason Voorhees.

I read a review from Variety... It wasn't very good.
I thought the dialogue in both of Zombie's previous films were awful. The random "fucks" drove me nuts and in the review for Halloween, the guy says that most characters talk like drunken sailors so that's wonderful.
Still, I am pumped to see it...

What I'm kind of on the fence about is the ending. From what Zombie has been saying, hes not leaving it open for a sequel. One and done, which is refreshing for horror movies today since they all leave it open for countless sequels. With that said, we probably wont get the great ending of loomis looking over the balcony.
