i don't really think he's a douchebag but for rivalry teams, i don't think it's acceptable. for instance, i'm a rangers fan and i recently attended the buffalo sabres - new jersey devils game in NJ - and there was some guy sitting there in the middle of the upper deck wearing a rangers jersey.
@ msg, i've even seen a devils fan wear his brodeur jersey to a rangers - leafs game.
anybody who knows the rivalry knows that these people are just doing this to be douchebags.

Agree, at the Leafs-Senators game there were quite a few people with Sens jerseys. The only way its acceptable is if its a defunct team or a player that is so bad that they jersey is funny.

i dunno, i guess a low key hat or something would be fine, but if you show up in obnoxious team apparel, then i have a problem with it, cause you're obviously making an attempt to start shit. its somewhat like if you go to a show, and kids are wearing obscure band shirts in an obvious attempt to be cool.

i agree that it's pretty douchey to be wearing more than one piece of your team's apparel in general unless you're going to their game.

thats more what i was getting at...i mean wearing a jersey (something that you'd probably never wear other than to a game) to a game where that team wasn't even playing is pretty retarded and obnoxious.

I wear my sabres hat to Bruins games all the time, never my jersey though. Unless the sabres are playing then my patty lafontaine jersey is taken out.

i'm gonna be conflicted this summer. i'm going to Fenway for the first time with a friend. i'm obviously not stupid enough to wear my Yankees shit there but i'm not a Rockies fan like my friend is and there's no way in hell i'm rooting for the Red Sox.

wear a yankees hat, that's perfectly ok to do.
is it just me, or do people look really lame if they're not at a game or i guess watching a big game on tv, and they're wearing a hat/shirt or hat/jersey or hat/anything of their favorite team. like, i would never go out in a red sox hat and t-shirt, i feel like that looks really stupid. am i the only one? or is that really stupid looking.

Honestly I used to do this and it just looks for trouble. I wore a Mets hat to a Phillies Diamondbacks game in 99 at the age of 14 and I got comments throughout..although it is philly. I think it depends on the game though ..wearing a Mets hat at a Nats/Rockies game is harmless..but I wouldnt do it at a Phillies/Nats game.. Personally I wouldnt do it

There was a guy who did that at an Orioles Yankees game that I went to and he got flamed like non other. This one douchebag motorcycle guy stood up and was like "CAN ANYONE TELL ME WHY A RED SOX FAN IS AT AN ORIOLES YANKEE GAME?". People were screaming shit at him constantly. This was in baltimore.
IT was funny because instead of giving you verbal warnings on behavior they give you these little cards saying "please be polite or you can be kicked out"

i did wear a red sox hat at an orioles game in baltimore, so it's not like i don't know that people say shit. but as long as they don't to fight me, i don't really care.

last year i went to a couple twins vs. cubs games in minnesota, and as a white sox fan as much as i don't like the cubs, i absolutely hate the twins so i of course went all decked out in sox gear.
