Yes, Paranoia Agent and Paprika are both written/directed by Satoshi Kon.

I saw the poster and it had some character that looked like an Asian version of Hugo Chavez.

It's definitely something you'll want/have to see more than once.

the only thing I found out is what I already posted. It'll probably be floating around the major cities for the next month or two and eventually go to dvd soon after.

Satoshi Kon's Paprika, which opened on Friday, May 25 on two screens in New York City, took in an estimated US$35,600 from Friday to Sunday, and a total of US$45,600 over the four-day weekend. These figures give Paprika the second-best per-screen average for either period, after Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End. For comparison, Kon's Perfect Blue took in US$9,600 (on one screen) in its US opening weekend, while Millennium Actress brought in US$18,732 (six screens). The opening-weekend gross of Tokyo Godfathers was US$37,127, but that film opened in eight theaters. yep, and Millennium Actress. There's a rumor the last poster "Dreaming Kids" is Kon's next film.

I wasn't sure if Millenium was there because I turned to my friend and said "Perfect Blue!" because I love that movie. In fact, it was my favorite "serious" (not including anime with giant robots and what not) anime until.. well, really, until I saw this.

The posters were in order of release oldest-newest. I'm surprised they didn't include Paranoia Agent which is very similar to Paprika. I wasn't very big on Millennium Actress the first time I saw it. I want to see it again though.

It's a great show, I watched it when it was on adult swim. They have a sale going on at http://www.rightstuf.com/ on dvds from Geneon, 10 for $50 or 25 for $100. PA is included, I plan on picking it up.

the content all looked pretty fucking weird, but the japanese always seem to have the happiest music playing no matter what.

The song from the trailer is epic.
