prestige for me, purely based on bale's performance. norton wasn't half bad either. also scarlett > biel

illusionist because i think all the prestige had going for it was good actiing, i thought the story itself wasn't nearly as good as the illusionists, and i saw the twist cominig a mile away.

The Prestige. I didn't find the Illusionist even remotely interesting.

The last twist, however, you will not see coming; at least not completely.

Man. That is...man.
Congratulations.
That is indeed impressive.
I can't believe I wrote that. I've been telling people I saw the twist coming whenever I talk to them about it.
I am officially a dumbass.

I'll still read your reviews. Everyone has the odd hypocrisy.

I loved both, but I thought the Illusionist was a little slow at times.

I personally like the Prestige a bit more, but both are excellent. Really it depends on when you ask me, I love both.

neither were that impressive, the 'twists' were nothing that mind-blowing and the stories were average. but i have to go with the prestige.

i loved memento, really liked batman begins, and did like the prestige, but all of them have WAY too high of ratings on the IMDB list...well maybe not memento but the other two definitely.

i saw the Prestidge first
and it was amazing.
seriously, Michael Cane, Hugh Jackman, Christian Bale, Scarlett Johanson.
that is an amazing cast.
and as much as i like Edward Norton and Paul Giamatti,
the story just didnt do anything for me.

chris did great with Insomnia too. That one always seems to get overlooked. Same with Following, though that is understandable since it was his first real picture.

prestige ftw
I said in the 'Last movie you saw....' thread that I couldn't pick between the two of these but in the end I gotta go with The Illusionist if for no other reason that it has Edward Norton in it. He's one of my favorite actors and he did a great job in that movie.

i enjoyed the illusionist more at first but after i rewatched them on dvd, i tend to favor the prestige...both quality though.

I still need to see The Illusionist. I love magic, bale and norton. So it will be hard for me to pick one or the other.
