hes not considered an elite catcher. jorge posada, mike pizza, jason kendall, and paul lo duca. those are the elite catchers. then you have people like varitek and the rest.

most of bostons line up isnt "elite", but their all bating .250 or higher and not to metion the best hitting team in the league. Varitek can hit just as well as any other catcher you named.
