The RIAA at one point wanted to shut down the entire internet (http://forum.cheapbooks.com/cached.html#4722).

Why does the RIAA think that they can do what ever they want? I hate those bastards!
I see no problem with this.

Michael Shepard makes me want to pay for any song I ever have ever again. The RIAA make me want to not pay for any song I ever have again.

i want to hear Stevieshotgun's response to this because he always defends the RIAA on reasons why they lose so much money. Imagine how many companies would lose so much money without the internet.
Lol, the internet is right on par with some of the most important inventions ever.

This would be very easy. All you would have to do is plug up some tubes and they'd be set.

This article is such BS. It links to articles that are written mainly on hearsay. The RIAA has never sought to shut down the internet. That was made up by an anti-RIAA lawyer who tried arguing that the RIAA's position would result in a ban of the entire internet. It was a very weak argument.
I'm starting to think the anti-RIAA crowd is just as fucking nuts in the head as the RIAA.

Cause we sue other countries for 1 trillion dollars right
Did the riaa ask anyone at all, bands, record labels, anyone, if it was alright to go and fight to stop p2p? if im ever in a huge band, i would love for people to download my music. from what i hear, you dont make money of cd's, only touring, merch, etc. let the piraters have at it, no ones stopping them except metallica and some old dudes...
