Has anone here ever had it or know someone who does. My docter thinks I should get it done but I've heard it takes a long time to heal, and alot of times it isn't even properly fixed and there is still pain. So yah, does anyonw know anything about it?

If you don't get it done, you could end up ruining your knee.
But yeah, people who get knee surgery often have alot of problems afterwards.
You should read up on it.

I have had surgery on both of my knees. But I doubt I have the same problem as you. This bone in both of my knees formed in the wrong place and it causes my kneecaps to dislocate. Surgery didnt even help much at all. I have to wear a brace all the time on my left knee.

I don't know if it would be or not. My docter didn't really tell me alot. I know that the cartalidge in my knee is slowly going away, I have weak knee muscles, a nerve rubs against my knee-cap and on Friday a metal pole got smashed right onto my knee cap and my knee was SO swollen I could hardly walk.

well it really depedns on your specific situation. find out what your condition is called and read on it. some knee problems can be "cured" and surgery is definately not necesary, like with mine i have been doing certain excersizes recommended by a sports doctor and that seems to be helping. but if you either a) cant stop the pain or b) if youre told that if you DONT get surgery, your knee will be permanently get screwed up... then go for it.
the 2 people i know that got knee surgery, regretted it, but if theres no other option...

My step mother had both her knees replaced last October...the operation was a success but she still cant walk perfectly without pain. She had numerous surgerys years ago but they didnt fix the problem so she had no choice but to replace them both.
You might as well get it over with because the problem wont go away on its own. Just be ready because I saw her afterwards and she was in a world of hurt. The worst part was when she had to have her knees bent every day....she would scream like a banshee.

this is the only time and I mean the only fucking time that I will be somewhat nice to you. I tore my ACL and had to have surgery two years ago. However, people generally don't have too much of a problem coming back from them. It took me about a year to fully recover, and I feel perfectly fine now.
However, atheletes generally recover much better than other people because they have stronger muscles to begin with and actually take care of their injury after. So if you get surger, FUCKING DO THE RECOVERY TREATMENT.
