Hello, after posting on the politics forum now for a few days I have come to the conclusion that nearly everyone on this forum is conservative. So if you are not a conservative, please respond here, if you are a conservative please don't respond, because I could care less. Thank you.

Well you must ask yourself two questions, if you like money, you're a republican. If you don't then you're just fucked up. Either way you're going to hell.

haha, well then i'd say you were 'free'. and conservatives believe in sticking to the system we have now, in following traditions. they're afraid of change. liberalists, on the other hand, are very openminded and take new ideas to heart...they don't shut them out just because they're new and haven't been tried before. so basically, i'd say that future freedom lies in the hands of the liberals more than it does with someone who believes in conservatism. in otherwords....i'd say you weren't concerned about politics at all...but, if anything, leaned more toward a liberalist point of view than to that of a conservative.

conservatives are all rednecks and/or businessmen politicians...they're idiots and we all know that. Some conservative ideals are decent, but i'm more towards the liberal side.

How can you be a liberal? If you look up "liberal" in the dictionary, it will say something like ,"Tolerant of the ideas and behaviors of others."
Well it looks to me like you failed that qualification, eh? Not that it matters, nobody takes anything you say seriously, ever since you said you listened to old school mest..

That's only if you take a real real extremist look at a liberal...i'm not a fuckin tree hugging hippie...if someone punches me in the face i don't go "it's ok, you're mad, i'll let it slide."
And sorry I don't say shit that everyone agrees with. Old school Mest, what does that matter anyway? Maybe i shoulda said I was into Mest before they sold out and tried to be like faggy ass TBS. And ya, i did say I believe in some conservative Ideals, i'm more liberal on other crap.

and since we've opened up the opportunity to talk about politics in the general forum..let me ask you all this:
do you believe that there can be communism without an authortarian party or individual?
i personally believe that communism would have been great considering the fact that it stands for equal distribution of wealth to all..there would be less of a problem with social status and homelessnes...plus i'm poor so i think it'd be great... but where the whole idea of communism gets fucked up is when they throw in that dictator shit. i want equal distribution, but i don't want a tyrannical government that has ultimate control of what goes on in the country. is there another type of goverment that is basically communism without dictatorship that i don't know about? i mean...equal distribution of wealth but not of power? what the hell is that?

I am open to others ideas...I just see how other people act and behave...and according to how i think, they deserve certain...classifications i guess. I'm not saying i'm a hardcore liberal though, so hopefully that clears it up for you or something.

I dunno dude...I agree with you though. Look at China, I mean ya not the best place to live, but they are still Communist and they're doing damn well. The Soviet Union fucked up cause everything was equally distributed except that the nation itself was poor so there was little to go around. I think without dictators or Absolute Monarchs and stuff, it could work. And the US does A LOT of things which we'd deem as "communist". Well, I can't name much, but I'm sure they're there. But like, Social Security is an example along with Workmans Comp and Welfare. Makes you think...Roosevelt was a Communist, not a Republican liberal...bastard.

maybe im just pulling this out of my ass but its what i learned last year. all of the "communist" states that have existed like china and the ussr weren't actually communist. the proletariat is supposed to overthrow the existing governemnt and set up a temporary leader. but after a while the need for a leader shoudl become non existant and a utopian society shoudl exist. thats when real communism has been achieved. other countries modified the ideals and never planned on letting of of their head of state.
so with the "communist" governments youre talking about there has been distribution of wealth (to some degree) and not power. but in a true communist state both equal distribution of power and wealth would exist because it would more or less be a utopian society.

Even IF Communism was executed according to it's ideals, it would still be the worst. Contrary to richter915's apparent views of China, they aren't "doing damn well". Poverty and overpopulation are serious problems, not to mention all the diseases and government corruption. Back to Communism and why it's worthless, why would you want to live in a world where everyone is equal, because as some people's posts on this board prove, NOT EVERYONE IS EQUAL. Do you think a garbage man should earn as much as a Doctor? I don't, and neither does anyone who is sane. What is the motivation to work harder or get a better job when you don't earn more, or when you can sit around and get other people's money? Instead of wishing for a system that is flawed to give you handouts, why not go to school and get a better job and do something that actually helps people.

i see your point. but i don't like it. nor do i like you. "what is the motivation to work harder or get a better job when you don't earn more, or when you can sit around and get other people's money?". pardon my being rude, but what the fuck is that? do i earn money by going to school? absolutely not. i gain something more: an education. i go to school because i have to by law, but i do well in school because i want to enrich my life and give myself better chances to be able to accomplish what i want in life. in otherwords, if i have a good education, that's just one less limitation i have weighing on my happiness and emotional success. did you happen to consider that maybe a person wants to work harder and get a better job because it makes them feel hopeful for the future, like they're doing something for their lives? it's called the search for wholeness, dear. yes, we live in a money-driven country (for those of us in the US) but that doesn't, under any fucking circumstances, mean that we have to live money-driven lives. so eat your own words, i hope they choke you on the way down. maybe you'll learn a lesson from it.

Ya I'm gonna have to go with Proeuthenasia (excuse my shitty spelling). This nation is driven by greed and money, fuck, all democracy is driven by greed and money. We live in such a covetous society that no other way works. And ya, maybe I didn't say everything right about China being in the best of all shape, but hey, it is a member of the Big 8, right? So it is a world power. And it is working on improving it's population problems though maybe not in the humane way. But hey, life is a bitch, deal with it. And there are ways, if put under the right authority that Communism can be better than Democracy, at least US democracy. US democracy has so much corruption in it (Bush's war for oil). And people say it's unfair that people who work harder get the same amount of pay as those who don't, well I think that if you look at some stuff here in the US, you'd think differently. An example, i'm heading to college soon, I know that the Ivy league colleges will definitely look at those students who have rich parents and go to prep schools over me. Why? Because they're greedy, those kids won't need grants, loans, and scholarships, they're fine. And that is pretty fucking unfair, when I am more capable to fill their spots, yet I don't get it. And it just snowballs from there. That is what I call unfair.

Let me get this straight, you acknowledge i am right, and that it contradicts your views, so you now hate me? Very tolerant and open-minded of you....wait.
did you happen to consider that maybe a person wants to work harder and get a better job because it makes them feel hopeful for the future, like they're doing something for their lives?
Explain to me what kind of future a communist society has to look forward to. Wouldn't working harder and getting a better job refute the principles of communism, because not everyone can work as hard as everyone else, leaving them left behind, or UNEQUAL? I've got an idea though, no one will work any harder than the slowest, most unintelligent slob alive. NOW EVERYONE IS EQUAL, YAY! Nevermind the fact that we have now reduced society to the lowest common denominator. What an excellent future, everyone is "whole". But wait, he has more "lessons" to teach.

Who said it did? Not me. What i said was that not everyone is equal, using salaries as an example most people could follow, nothing more. Not being a communist doesn't make me evil, or "money-driven", but since you seem to despise the money system, i would like to hear what you would replace it with. Since you love teaching me "lessons".

I don't visit the politics forum anymore because the ignorance I encounter is overwhelming and it's not worth my frustration. The only reason it's full of conservatives is because they all know deep down that Bush is a fucking idiot but they feel the need to defend whatever bullshit ideologies have been instilled in them and stand up for themselves because the Republicans are doing such a shitty job running the country; they need to try and convince you that everything will be okay. It's bullshit and I've given up. I'm sorry for the lack of representaion, but people suck, and for that exact reason a true communist society is an entirely idealistic concept. Human nature will never allow for it, reguardless of whether it seems like a good system or not. That's why all attempts at a true utopian society have failed. Humans are assholes and will always be unsatisfied or power-hunrgy.

If you honestly want to be informed, there's two works you should read... first, Utopia by Sir Thomas More and secondly, the application of those ideas in The Communist Manifesto by Karl Marx and Frederick Engles. They are both relatively short. Communism makes sense in theory when fully understood, but only in theory. There is too much about human nature that is not addressed in Utopia and so it could never exsist. I do urge you to educate yourself though, it's not anyone else's job but your own.

eh, I guess Angie is right. Communism is great on paper, but harder to turn into a reality. I think it's cause humanity is driven by selfish desires and greed, that's why democracy works so well. It's fucked up.
yea, i'm definately more towards the left
