Fall Out Boy and My Chemical Romance are two bands that are up there on my list of fav.s, but as far as their new CDs go Fall Out Boy did a lot better job in my opinion. The Black Parade is cool because it has a consistant theme and there are some good lyrics as exspected... Garard's voice even sounds better. But is the band just growing or are they selling out? They sound wayy different. Fall Out Boy's is better in my opinion because even though the subject matter of the songs changed and there is less screaming it's more Fall Out Boy. It's destinct that they aren't selling out , but just growing up. I think that's the determining factor in which was a better accomplishment by the band.
Maybe I'm wrong. What do you think?

I think The Black Parade is better... simply because MCR showed that their band is more than what they've shown on past efforts. They really expanded their horizons and really brought the rock.

Fall Out Boy's new disc... while great, doesn't show the same maturing that MCR's did. It's the same sound I was expecting from Fall Out Boy. It did expand on what they had brought to the table previously, but I just feel that MCR evolved a lot more than FOB did in this effort.

Both discs, however, own the pants off their predecessor. I won't say the same about IOH vs TTTYG, but TBP is easily the best MCR record to date.

I actually loved Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge. I like it better than The Black Parade and I could listen to it again and again. I won't say that TCFSR is that much better, but there's something about it...

ok, fall out boy's record was better, but screaming makes good pop punk/screamo, so your points aren't valid because you don't like screaming.

I agree completely. Well, my opinion may not be as fair anyways, simply because FOB has always been number 1 for me, while MCR has stayed lower on my favs list.
But I still agree. I got both their CDs at the same time, and I swear I listen to the new FOB atleast three times a day. But I get bored with the MCR faster.
And I really can't say MCR has evolved more. I actually think FOB did. Plus its cool that their new populairity and publication hasn't really gotten to them like it has to MCR. MCR has become more and more about the image, in my opinion.

so... IOH>TBP

Exactly the point I was going to make after reading this comments. God forbid a band evolves and tries something different. We need the same formulaic music album after album after album after all dont we?

IOH definately. BP was just okay. i also am not a big fan of MCR. they're a little too.......intense(i'll be nice).:badmood: no offense to anyone who likes them.

I don't really feel the evolution or maturing from FOB. If someone were to pick songs from various FOB albums, I would not be able to tell you which came from which album from the style, because IMO all of their albums sound the same.

MCR, on the other hand, has provided some interesting twists and suprises with each album. They have gotten better through time, though, again IMO, TCFSR beats TBP by a slight margin.

*sigh* Opinions, opinions..

I thought (I could be wrong because I haven't even heard the whole cd and I dont plan on it) that the new FOB cd was really varied and different especially with the songs I have heard so I would assume you could tell which ones were at least from the new one

*sigh* Opinions, opinions..No evolution from Fall Out Boy? Seriously? Listen to EOWYG and then IOH, and get back to me. There is a world of a difference there. Pete's lyrics [go up and down] but Patrick's vocals are worlds apart, they've gotten so much better over the years. The sound, also, is totally different. Listen to TTTYG and than IOH, and tell me you can't tell a difference in sound.

More futile on your behalf. There are plenty more talented and better bands out there then MCR or FOB that deserve more publicity, you just need to know where to look.
