i don't exactly know what you just said but the fall of the house of usher and the cask of amontillado are some of the favorite short stories ever.

ray bradbury's Usher 2 is an awesome quasi-retelling of usher that comes highly recommended as well.

what i was meaning to say was "could anyone please explain to me what happened in the short story 'the gold-bug' because i dont understand it. and if you dont know the general appreciation of poe will suffice."

i love poe. he has an awesome name and for some reason his writings are so oddly beautiful and frightenly delicate. a genius with a super tragic life...why do those two always go together?

but they always have the best work.
the tell tale heart was so good.
the fall of the house of usher is also among my favorites.

I love every single short story mentioned here, Poe rocks.

The Raven is my favorite poem ever...may even be my favorite piece of literature ever.
