dont close threads that you think have been posted too many times by other members. newer members and people who dont come here often cant find these past threads because someone has the search function disabled

so whats wrong with a kid asking what everyones favorite bands are? this is definately nothing wrong. and even if the search function WAS enabled, it would be good to have a new Favorite Bands thread because peopels favorite bands change. as goes for other topics

Wasn't me who closed it so I'll leave it up to the person who did lock it to keep it as it is, or re-open it.

I feel it should stay closed though. We get this same topic every other day. And then we get people complaining about how boring the forum's have gotten. Ever wonder why ? Because all the same topics are discussed over, and over and over again. Closing this has done you a favour. Making it more open to new, more interesting topics.

You made a good point about how favourite bands change, and thats cool, and the truth. But don't make ANOTHER thread about it. Say you're suddenly a big fan of Cursive. get a cursive avatar. put them in your title or incorporate them into your sig. Don't keep making the same threads which have been made countless times before.

And about the search function, if that was open, it would be taking up even more bandwith and making it yet even harder for members to get on.

I believe this is why the forum guidelines were set.

no, we complain about how the forums have gotten because so many of the kids are stupid. or at least they used to be. this forum has actually gotten alot better, and thats why theres a lot less complaining

You're right. Somewhat. Complaints about the intelligence of all the new forum members are half of what I hear that's "wrong" with this forum. Why do you think all these people leave ? The other half of the complaints come from people saying its too "boring" around this place, and that it no longer interests them.

Besides, who are you and I to judge who's stupid and who's not. It's a place for fun and not meant to be taken so seriously. The more members the better. That's how I see it. Regardless of what they're like.
