The Beverly Hills Police Department is investigating (http://www.tmz.com/tmz_main_video?titleid=604282224) Good Charlotte (http://www.absolutepunk.net/goodcharlotte)'s Joel Madden, after a female photographer filed a (http://www.antimusic.com/dayinrock/07/march/07/15.shtml) "crime report" claiming he "attacked" her Sunday night.
According to police sources, the woman claimed Madden struck her on the left breast "with the heel of his hand" as the rocker tried to escort his girlfriend, Nicole Richie, out of the back door of Mr. Chow restaurant in Beverly Hills. The photographer told TMZ that she has a welt to prove it, and had to see a doctor for treatment.

The way the article says it leads me to assume that she was treated for something. I think of treating something and getting checked out as two totally different things.
