I just watched Saving Private Ryan again and I must say it's an amazing movie. I think it totally deserved Best Picture. Now I haven't seen Shakespeare in love more than once but the one time I did see it I felt that it wasn't living up to it's potential.

I can say I was happy it won not necessarily because it was better, but it was nice to see that a comedy could win the best picture oscar. Not everything that's a winner needs to be so bleak.

Lol. No. It's a solid movie, Saving Private Ryan is an absolute classic. Worst Best Picture mistake ever. Well...besides maybe Titanic instead of LA Confidential.

It IS a great movie. I liked it, but I don't know your tastes, so I can't reccomend it to you or not. The movies are just so different.
