The waves kiss the shoreline and I feel like I should run
And free-fall the rocky ledge but the water is too numb
So cold from the depth and the distance that defies
Any sense of direction, it's too far for these eyes
The boulders are submerged 30 feet below
The wind blows across this desolate plateau
My fingers scrape the stone as my hand reaches yours
Your eyes are fixed pensive as the water reaches the shores
Sitting on this boulder, I feel in every way inferior
This place is utterly massive, I am a speck in the Superior
We could talk about the beauty and share a moment of awe
But this scene is so stunning that silence takes all
Pools of water grace the holes where stone meets stone
The breeze fills my head with the scent of water and your cologne
The horizon extrudes a sky where the birds own the air
And the sun paints a stripe where the water owns the glare
Breathe in your life for a moment and take in the air
Exhale the beauty and hold the arms of the one there
Let the sun hit your eye lids and and sink into your skin
Then this moment of your life will inspire you from within
