Against Me!
The Riverboat Gamblers

City: London Ontario
Date: March 8 2007
On March 8 2007 I was able to catch the Against Me! with The Riverboat Gamblers and Fake Problems show at Call the Office in London Ontario. The show was incredible in my opinion. The bands all fit really well together and appealed to the crowd. Fake Problems opened the show and put a lot of energy into their half hour set. I definitely want to catch them live again and cannot wait to see what else they do. The Riverboat Gamblers hit the stage next and were pretty good. They had good sound but I didn't feel as much energy coming from them.
Against Me! finally hit the stage at 10:30. It was a sold out show so the tiny venue was extremly packed. I made my way to the front of the club just as the band opened with Pints Of Guinness. As usual the band didn't talk much to the crowd much but every song was played with such emotion and energy. I don't remember the order of the songs but the set list had a good flow with a good mix of old and new songs . My only dislikes about the show are typical things. I never enjoy when bands play songs off the new record before it is out. I understand that they are excited to play something new live but I would have prefered if they only played one new song rather then two. When they band exited the stage I felt like the set list could have been longer. They also left out two crowd favorites - Walking Is Still Honest and We Laugh At Danger (And Break All The Rules). They played a lot of songs but the songs are so short I feel they could have added two or three more. The encore was incredible and it was amazing to finally hear "Tonight We're Gonna Give It 35%".
All in all I hope the best for this band and cannot wait till I have another chance to see another live set from them.
