I have a ticket to see them in lawerence, ks the 31st of march, but I kind of don't want to go anymore and want to try and sell it. i feel like the drive will be lame and i won't have any fun. on the other hand, if they're amazing, then i'd be kicking myself for not going. does anyone know how they are live?

thanks. that's what i'm worried about, that i'll be bored.

i guess i'll see if i get bored after seeing pelican a few days earlier. if i don't, then i'll probably still go.

these arms are snakes aren't on the tour with the other bands. i think it's a springfield only show, but i know that pelican, russian circles and young widows are all touring together, though i don't know where they go. i've been excited about it for months.

i just recently saw them and they were incredible. they show a great amount of passion and emotion, which is kind of hard through instrumental music. and i noticed you are 21, so grab a few drinks, and it will be much, much better. i went with a friend, and me and her became increasingly intoxicated throughout their set, and enjoyed it a lot. hahaha. are you going alone? or some friends?

i'm going with people...i wish i was going alone since i never listen to post-rock around people anyway, but i don't have a car so i take what i can get, and the drive would suck by myself.

nice avatar by the way.

do yourself a favor and go. if they are good friends, you will enjoy it and your time there. you guys can hang and enjoy the music, and have some drinks. they are an incredible live band. they came out on stage and played for like an hour and 20 minutes straight. no talking, no pausing.

I think this is the best line up I'll ever see. it's also like 8 bucks too.

yeah, unfortunately. if it weren't, i might be road tripping on spring break to catch more dates.

i'd come down to catch it, but my break was last week...you should probably just videotape the entire show and get that to me

You really need an appreciation of quality tech music in order to listen to Explosions for an entire set, they are bringing classical music back on a "cooler" front. Thier music is truly amazing even if they borrow a lot of themes and melodies from classical composers. But seriously listen to some of Bach's fugues and then listen to EITS and you will be amazed at thier similarities.

I was originally going to see them next week during my spring break but the tickets sold out in less than 4 hours. :-(

i love explosions in the sky. if i were going alone, i think i could totally make it through the set. my problem is that i'm going with a few other people. post-rock is one of the few forms of music that's still holy, in a sense, to me. i feel like my friends complaining about other people at the show etc would kind of ruin that.

i decided that i'm probably going to go anyway. i don't know, i feel like they might be getting popular, so i'd hate that i wouldn't be able to see them again for as cheaply as I'm going now.
