2. The Format
3. Anberlin
4. Fall Out Boy
5. The Wedding
EDIT: How did I ever forget Dallas Green? I'd place him between FOB and the wedding.

The one-two punch of Chris and Roger from LTJ
"gritty" enough at times for fast punk complete with the classic "woahs" and yet soft and melodic enough for melodic gems (science of selling yourself short, last hour of the last day of work,p.s. shock the world)
hurray.
them and Patrick Stump. period.

cheers. the exponents are a great band who hit their stride in the 90's. they are a great rock band with a pop twist & by pop i don't mean fall out boy (no direspect to the band), think rock/pop as in the same way the beatles or the kinks created. the front man, jordan luck, is one of the best in the business, with lyrics that will play over in your mind over & over again, once ya've heard them a couple times. worth a listen mate

A lot of my fave bands of all time aren't goping to be on this list, since it's just bands with vocalists i love.
None More Black. I love Jason's voice!! In all his bands, but probably most of all in NMB (Well, until the OnGuard album drops). Melodic, yet gruff, yet strangely beautiful. http://www.myspace.com/nmbmusic
Smoking Popes.
Ingredients
1 cup beautiful crooning voice.
2 cups happy, upbeat pop-punk.
1 cup love.
1 cup heartbreak.
A dash of ironic modern-rock guitar solo.
Place beautiful crooning voice over happy, upbeat pop-punk. Mix, while gently sprinkling dash of ironic modern-rock guitar solo. Alternatley pour equal parts love and heartbreak. Continue mixing until well blended. Serve loudly, while smiling intently.
http://www.myspace.com/smokingpopes
Owen. Mike Kinsella. I don't need to say anything else. www.myspace.com/mybandowen
Darren Hanlon. When he sings, it's like he's all of a sudden your best mate. The very Australian accent. The wit in what he's singing. The relatability to his words and voice. The saddness. The happiness. It warms my heart. www.myspace.com/darrenhanlon
Glassjaw. Daryl's vocals have always gripped me. In the way that, in Glassjaw, he takes his vocal melody's and goes to notes that you wouldn't expect him to go to. If that makes sense. I've always liked that about his vocals. You don't know where he's going to go next, but you can't wait to find out. www.myspace.com/glassjaw
Lagwagon/Bad Astronaut. Raw, honest and real. While still having a beautifully melodic voice. The emotion he can convey is amazing. www.myspace.com/lagwagon www.myspace.com/badastronaut
The Robot Ate Me. Ryland Bouchard's voice is so haunting. The first time i heard it, i was transfixed. I didn't do anything else until he had stopped singing. The tone he sings in. The accent. The all too human mistakes he makes. Everything about it is so intriguing. www.myspace.com/therobotateme

wow...i've gotta say that i'm sick of people liking sonny more
i can see why you like his voice, but personally, i think his high and whiney voice ruins FFTL
FFTL has some good riffs and melodies and songs
but once sonny starts singing i just can't listen to them anymore
i'm very thankful that he quite
And i have to say that amy lee is a good singer, but there are way better female singers, like the christina scabbia
anyway, my list:
1. Jello Biafra (Former Dead Kennedys)
2. Christina Scabbia (Lacuna Coil)
3. Kurt Cobain (Nirvana)

I don't need to say anything else. www.myspace.com/mybandowen (http://www.myspace.com/mybandowen)
Darren Hanlon. When he sings, it's like he's all of a sudden your best mate. The very Australian accent. The wit in what he's singing. The relatability to his words and voice. The saddness. The happiness. It warms my heart. www.myspace.com/darrenhanlon (http://www.myspace.com/darrenhanlon)
Glassjaw. Daryl's vocals have always gripped me. In the way that, in Glassjaw, he takes his vocal melody's and goes to notes that you wouldn't expect him to go to. If that makes sense. I've always liked that about his vocals. You don't know where he's going to go next, but you can't wait to find out. www.myspace.com/glassjaw (http://www.myspace.com/glassjaw)
Lagwagon/Bad Astronaut. Raw, honest and real. While still having a beautifully melodic voice. The emotion he can convey is amazing. www.myspace.com/lagwagon (http://www.myspace.com/lagwagon) www.myspace.com/badastronaut (http://www.myspace.com/badastronaut)
The Robot Ate Me. Ryland Bouchard's voice is so haunting. The first time i heard it, i was transfixed. I didn't do anything else until he had stopped singing. The tone he sings in. The accent. The all too human mistakes he makes. Everything about it is so intriguing. www.myspace.com/therobotateme (http://www.myspace.com/therobotateme)
Yeah, i posted 7 :-p
Right you are, sir! None More Black are fucking amazing, and I love Jason's voice as well. Very unique and stylistic. Smoking Popes pretty much own, and Joey Cape (Lagwagon/Bad Astronaut) has a wonderful voice. Like the breakdown/quiet part in "Automatic" off of Resolve where he sings real low and soft, it's almost haunting, and then he can do a really good melodic-punk voice (see: Razor Burn, etc)
Good call on all those. The ones I know anyway haha. Haven't heard the Robot Ate Me or Owen yet.

cheers. the exponents are a great band who hit their stride in the 90's. they are a great rock band with a pop twist & by pop i don't mean fall out boy (no direspect to the band), think rock/pop as in the same way the beatles or the kinks created. the front man, jordan luck, is one of the best in the business, with lyrics that will play over in your mind over & over again, once ya've heard them a couple times. worth a listen mate
Cool, cool. I'm always looking to find new bands to dig, preferably ones not many people have heard of, so I'll definatley have to check these guys out. Thanks for the reccomendation :)

Ehhh..yeah. I still love em though haha. Of course, their best stuff was done back in the day (Punk In Drublic, ...Thanks For All the Shoes, White Trash, Two Heebs...) but they're still a consistently great punk outfit. 5) Alexisonfire - Dallas Green belts some pretty sweet lyrics in a many of their songs
I didn't know if screaming counted...But damn, Bryan deserves it :-D...I'm gonna miss him
The only legit one on that list is Dallas Green, who even though I like AOF, should just go solo period.

This is SUCH a shitty list. Its incredible. Cove's voice is nicest on the list. Catherine is a terrrrrible band. Nothing good about them. Rather boring.
Wait wait wait. I'm almost sure that it's not wise to bash someone's list when everyone's ears are pleased by a different euphoria or whatnot. BUT, since you've decided to instigate, here goes. First off, Cove does have a nice voice. HOWEVER, Anthony's voice was a hundred times greater than Cove's AND Cove digs himself a hole in that 75% of the songs off of their self-titled are attempted to be sung in Anthony's footsteps. It's not even HIS voice; it's a sub-par gimmick of Green's. I'll admit its nice, when he doesn't attempt to imitate! Second off, Craig's voice is amazing. Period. I won't even explain this. Assuming that you've even HEARD of The Higher, I'm going to assume that you had ear plugs in or something. Seth's voice is so unique and melodic that it someone bothers me that you can call it "Shitty". As for Catherine, he has/had one of the best screams in the hardcore business today, being able to hit the low guttural notes as well as the high-pitched screams. Sorry if you have a very picky taste in music. Dallas Green. Its fucking DALLAS GREEN. That's it.

I agree. dallas should just head the other way, as much as I like Alexisonfire. When he's present in any aof song, it makes it that much better.

vocalist? I like Thursday but Geoff doesn't have a good voice.
Dude you need to go to some Thursday shows, his voice has improved drastically in the past few years. He has definetly shed his "tone geoff" nickname. He can sing right with Running from the Rain and Autumn Leaves Revisited as if it were right off the record.

This isn't my top 5 of ALL time, otherwise i'd definitely have roger waters or freddie mercury, but currently i've been amazed by these vocalists:
1) Hayley Williams- Paramore (Honestly, that girl can sing. Paramore is going to explode this year)
2) Sherri/Stacy Dupree- Eisley
3) Adam lazzara- Taking Back Sunday
4) Aaron Gillespie- Underoath/The Almost
5) Jesse Lacey- Brand new

Blink182 - Tom Delonge and Mark Hoppus love these two love their voices love this band
Copeland - Aaron Marsh
From Autumn To Ashes - Ben Perri and Francis Mark ,although Ben left the band two awesome vocalists and a great combination ,Francis is now the lead vocalist
Cauterize - Jesse Smith
Waking Ashland - Jonathan Jones
I know most won't agree with my list but thats not my intention these are my favourites
also for me great vocals does'nt neccesserily mean that the vocalist has to have an amazing voice
it means that it sounds special or combined somehow with the music in a way that i love.
some more vocalists that suppose to be there imo Casey Crescenzo ,Dallas Green ,Nic Newsham
and Ryan Ogren from Dont Look Down especially in Start The Show album.
I broke the rules a little bit of this thread but all of these imo worth the mention.

Well there's a difference in actual skill because if you dont see them live, you dont know their actual vocal skill because anyone can be put through a computer. Out of those I've seen, the following would be my favorite:
1) Patrick Stump- Fall Out Boy
2) Gerard Way- My Chemical Romance
3) Bob Morris- The Hush Sound
4) Forrest Kline- Hellogoodbye
5)Dan Young- This Providence

Hell, I was just about to say those two haha. As alike as their vocals are, they're definitely my kind of style.
-Along with the National, with the vocal's clean Johnny Cash feel.
-Conor Oberst, his vocals are incredibly nice to listen to, and his singing satisfies his music, no matter what people would think.
-Paula Deanda (r&b)
I'm sure all are mentioned already, but I got 7 pages deep and couldn't stand another "Pat Stump zomgz"
No particular order here
1. Dallas (Alexisonfire / City and Colour)
2. Johnny Cash
3. Eliott Smith
4. Jesse Lacey (Hate if you want, I am a sucker for Brand New
5. Sam Beam
Others worth mentioning imo

Marianas Trench do acapella four part harmonies live, and are spot on, so I'm going to have to go with them.
I'm noticing that a lot of bands/artists being listed are artists whose vocals are definitely not pristine and powerful, but are still awesome for the imperfections and uniqueness.
