View Full Version : What do you think of the following bands/artists
Spoon has two really good albums, 'Kill The Moonlight' and 'Girls Can Tell'. They are one of my favorite bands.
Radiohead. Best band in the world. Period. Every one of their albums is amazing in its own way.
The White Stripes. Another talented band. Jack White is really a great guitarist/songwriter.
The Strokes. Overrated, but still good. I really liked 'This Is It'.
The Hives. Average. A bit overhyped by MTV, but still a solid band.
I really don't listen to enough of the other bands to have much of an opinion.

the strokes: i love them. "last night" is one of my favorite songs.
the white stripes: they're pretty good. i like 'em.
the hives: i've only heard that one song. it's good though.
spoon: meh.
john mayer: i'm obssessed. he's my favorite ever. his new album comes out september 9. i've already pre-ordered it.
michelle branch. the singles are good, but "the spirit room" was piece of crap.
stone temple pilots: they're good
radiohead: i've never really listened to them.
steel train: not bad.
hot hot heat: i've only hear "bandages", but it's good.
the roots: i like that song with erykah badu.
the reunion show: i've never heard them.
gayside: never heard them either.
collective soul: meh.
showoff: i like them.

The Strokes - not that good, kinda boring, kinda stupid.
The White Stripes - average, the new song really gets on my nerves but "Fell In Love With A Girl"'s video with the Legos just amazed me for like 2 months last year.
The Hives - pretty good, their videos make me laugh, because of the fat Mexican bassist
John Mayer - he sings like his testicles disappeared years ago.
Michelle Branch - average
Stone Temple Pilots - very good
Radiohead - simply amazing
Steel Train - ::yawn::
Hot Hot Heat - they can have my children. they're a constant on my playlist.
Collective Soul -dude, i remember Collective Soul, i listened to them when i was like 10-12.

The Strokes - they bore me. I don't really like them
The White Stripes - Not a big fan, but I like most of the stuff I've heard from them
The Hives - they make me laugh, pretty good band
John Mayer - I REALLY like him. he has a good voice and good songs
Michelle Branch - she annoys me alot
Stone Temple Pilots - meh
Steel Train - I hate them one day, and like them the next
Hot Hot Heat - <3<3<3<3<3<3
The Roots - they're ok
Bayside - You got me into them, and I REALLY like them
Collective Soul - weren't they from the 90's

Michelle Branch - not bad actually, but i'm not gonna buy a cd of hers.
Stone Temple Pilots - SMG was the best thing about them, I'm not a fan

The Hives - another victim of the fad that faded, not bad though
Spoon (if you've ever heard of them) - never heard of them
John Mayer - used to like him a little because the guitar riffs are good, but the lyrics started to annoy me...
Michelle Branch - excellent
Stone Temple Pilots - good shit
Radiohead (only talking about b4 Kid A) - not a big fan, i think they're somewhat overrated

Michelle Branch- i really respect her because she is a very talented guitar player and writes her on songs, and i like some of her songs
Stone Temple Pilots-one of the greatest rock bands ever, they dont get enough attention these days though

The White Stripes - I have known about them ever since the were going solo in diff bands, I love the shit out of them
The Hives - Kick ass group
Spoon (if you've ever heard of them) - I like em! Well BAS ASS BAND! OF COURSE
John Mayer - Great Vocals, tons of talent
Michelle Branch - BITCH!
Stone Temple Pilots - Decent
Radiohead (only talking about b4 Kid A) - Like em

Bayside and Reunion show are both good bands. Don't care too much for Steel Train's album but they do put on a great live show.

The Strokes are not bad but absurdly overhyped (like brand new)
The White Stripes are pretty good. Jack is a damn fine guitarist.
The Hives are fun.
Stone Temple Pilots well they can pay for Scott's drug habit so I guess they're doing ok for themselves now. Better than nu-metal. Like their old stuff more though.
Radiohead (only talking about b4 Kid A) even their first album, which most of their fans don't even listen to, is miles above most of what's out there. Still overrated, but not at the level of the strokes.
Hot Hot Heat are fun.
The Roots are one of the bright spots in mainstream rap.
The Reunion Show are the most obnoxious band i've ever seen live.
Bayside are dull.
Showoff (remember them) were enjoyable but they sucked.

I'm of the opinion that the White Stripes are more overhyped than the Strokes, at least by music journalists.
The're both good though.

I wrote out a long ass posty about the bands listed then right ass I went to post it the forum goes down or something, so i'll just sum up the best parts. I could make better music beating my cat than the white stripes can, stp owns, I like steal train too dan, the strokes need to go back to t he 60's, the reunion show should do the world a favor and stop makin music, I don't care for the rest of those bands, I'd do michelle branch.

Stone Temple Pilots: Excellent! Interstate Love Song is great.
Radiohead: Absolutely awesome! True musical geniouses.
White Stripes: White Blood Cells was my album of the year last year! Elephant is just as great. I'm usually into punk, but the White Stripes are one of my faves!
The Strokes: I have there album Is This It. Its good, but its not to die for. I lve the song Someday.
The Hives: They're alright. I can stand them. They only had like one hit, right?
