This is something which stuck out at me last night. On Jay Leno, Colin Farrell was wearing a CBGB's shirt. So I figured, anyone who knows anything about music would know three things, What CBGB's is, what OMFUG stands for, and what CBGB's did to help change music... I'll be waiting for the correct response. Winner gets respect, and possibly a good position in the Emü Renaissance movement... ;)

This answers some......

COUNTRY BLUEGRASS BLUES. CBGB's...
What does OMFUG stand for?" -OTHER MUSIC FOR UPLIFTING
GORMANDIZERS." And what is a gormandizer? It's a voracious eater of,
in this case, MUSIC.

In addition.....

December 1973 is when CBGB opened, and among the first bands to play were, "The Con Fullum Band " from Maine, "Elly Greenberg," a country folk artist, and a street group called "The Wretched Refuse String Band."

Was it the word.."Gormandizer"? Tee Hee...I still win..I was right...Angie rules all....Plus, I live in NYC, I win regardless because I've been there....and my Dad used to drink there with Bob Dylan...True story...

No the Gormandize quote appears right on their site though. It looked familiar so I checked and low and behold it was on the first page of the history section. But still, that's awesome, I'd love to visit there. That place is like legendary. I didn't think too many people would know what it was. Of course living in NYC and also being 24 helps you quite a bit...

The Ramones and The Clash both started off playing small shows at CBGB's. Those were some good years for music.
