hmmm...you can never go wrong with Tom Waits. he's pretty much the master of capturing emotion in music. I reccomend his album "Small Change" some more upbeat moments, but overall its a pretty sad, mellow album.

AC/DC were my first real hard rock band, and through them, I really got on the "road" to listening to the music I do today. so theyve always stuck with me. and though Im not as big a fan as I used to be, I still really enjoy them.

I think with Brian Johnson, you either love or hate his voice, generally. I dont love it, but I do like it, however, I think Bon Scott was the better singer, not to mention lyricist. I know AC/DCs lyrics are nothing special, but Bon had a really good way with worplay/double-entrendes, IMO.

hahahaha I love when I/my friends do crazy stuff like that. The other day I was in the car with one of my best friends and her mom and the guy next to us on the road [who was really good looking] was rocking out to something, so I was like, "I wonder what he's listening to, it must be good." So her mom rolls down her window, and asks him. Just yells at her window and I forgot what band he said, but I had never heard of them. Maybe you had to be there, too...haha.
Hahaha, yeah, my friends and I usually get crazy like that in Wal-Mart...which is sad, since here in Shelbyville, that's the only real chain retail store we've got. No Target, No Best Buy, no Virgin Music Store, no nothing haha...so we go in there and act crazy.

one, a friend of mine and I took two of those toy plastic Star Wars lightsabers and had a massive duel that kind of spilled out of the toy section and into the CD/DVD rows haha. and then some woman was like "arent you kids a little old to be playing with toys?" haha it was great.

I'm recording an EP today entitled "Five Songs, Five Hours".

I'm going to write everything on it today, in five hours, and record it in those same five hours. It should be interesting. Some might not even be 'songs' exactly, but more musical ideas.

I thought it would be fun. :shrug:

P.S. I'm recording them with an electric guitar unplugged, missing a high E string. I might plug it in for some parts. I'm also recording everything in an empty room, so hopefully I get some neat echo stuff.

I've never really, fully understood the whole "you're young, so you're not in love" thing. Granted, kids that are real young don't know love, but I'd just like to know why there's this official age now when you're allowed to say you love a girl (or in Melissa's case, a guy)...and Id just like to know what that age is. I mean, I'm 17, not too much older than 15, and I'm pretty sure what I feel for this girl is love.

Some people, despite their age, can still be mature past their years.
I mean hell, when I first came here, I thought James and Bridig were in their 20s or something haha.

Now anyway...alot of the kids I know, my own friends included, really don't seem to know love, since even though my best friend, for example (man I feel bad for talking about him here...) even though he as a gf that he shows affection for, he still seems more interested in getting laid...like...that seems to be the only thing he and a few other kids care about.
Not that I'm not interested in that...but at the risk of sounding lame, I think it can wait. I'd much rather be (winces) cuddling with this girl, just talking and laughing with her, than out fucking somebody I hardly even know. Which seems to pretty much be the goal of most of my friends.

But I just still think that people are capable of love even at a young age.
