I've realized I tend to overdue everything. I decided I had to pause recording my LP because the computer have been in a constant shift so to pass the time I decided to do a little electronic thing. It's slowly become a concept of sorts and is draining, haha. I actually finished a song, complete with vocals, the other day so I might post it in a bit.

I still want to do a metal/thrash song of sorts, any drummers care to add sick kick-heavy drums?

I am starting to get somewhat comfortable with how my voice sounds, it still needs work. But I don't blush when I listen to it :woot:

I haven't been writting that much of my own stuff lately because I have been so busy with university and the world around me that i don't have any time to be creative within my own context.

Aside from that, Mr Jr is really fun for me to do with Rory just because its nice being able to be stupid but still musically creative.

Our album is going to be epic, seriously. Possibly the best concept record about a gay guy called Stuart Anderson ever.

Every song is completely different stylisticly and vocally. So far we have done southern rock and 19th century cockney vocal styles, and we still have 9 or so more songs to record

Their album "The White Songbook: Legacy Volume 1" is the best electronic album I've heard in my life. Ronnie Martin is a brilliant underrated musician. I suggest you check them out.

I use Acid Pro.6 and FL Studio. FL Studio is good for programming simple drum loops and then moving them into Acid where I arranged it all. FL Studio is also good for short synth parts. In Acid I use the MIDI tracks to program piano or key parts and it works well.

Usually I'll pick out a snare, kick and hihat and just mess around until I get something decent. Then if I don't have an idea for a synth or lead piano or what have you part, I just browse through the MIDI track folders until something sounds interesting then just play with it. It can be long and tiring, or really simple. haha

But I'm definatley going to hang out with my buddies, and hopefully try and find me a lady friend. Other than that, I'll probably spend the rest of it eating fast food and writing music.

Yeah, I'm diggin them. This is the first CD of theirs I've ever owned/purchased, and I'm pretty impressed. I'll have to look into more...

I used to write short stories, and such, but they were never really any good, plus my ADD, mixed with my penchant for procrastination, always resulted in some of my stories never really being finished haha.

...but then again, I did write a short story for my English class last year, and got an A+ on it, so maybe I should start writing them again. Hmmm...

And yes, both those bands are great. For Youth Group, check out the tune "Sorry" off of "Casio Twilight Dogs", and for Bad Astronaut, check out "the 'F' Word" off of "Twelve Small Steps, One Giant Disappointment."

Amazing stuff, on the latter. But Youth Group are pretty rad as well.

Hahaha, Three Six Mafia. Pretty good band and all, but I've got a funny story related to them:

There was this kid who used to go to my school who was one of the hugest stoners I've ever seen in my life haha. Anyway, one day in art class, he randomly told me and my friend Everett that he had written half of the songs on the latest Three Six Mafia album

...and that same day, Everett had his iPod out, with the headphones laying on the table, and was going to turn the volume all the way up so we could all kinda hear. And before he turns it on, that kid picks up the iPod, and holds it next to his ear and says "I cant fuckin hear anything!" hahaha...and you could tell he wasnt just kidding. Dude was fried out of his mind haha.

Oh, always hahaha. He made all sorts of outrageous claims. But none of them really ever topped that one hahaha.

And he was huge on guitar technique, you know? Like he obsessed over perfecting your skill, tone, chops, scale abilities, etc, etc. So one day, when that same friend (Everett) asked him if he knew anything about "sweep picking" (if you dont play guitar, that's a picking technique, as Im sure you could tell, hahah)...anyway, my friend asked him that, and the kid about shot off in his pants haha. He started pouring all this info and odd terms, etc out on my friend, talking like he was some sort of professional guitar teacher haha

No, no, it's a great album, I just wish that the production was better. I'm only disappointed by that. It almost sounds like Garageband recordings at points... but it's a great album, and the band's songwriting makes up for it.

I haven't decided on a favorite song yet, sorry...
