I think the only reason it took so long is that he died before he could become mainstream, but this should be good

I love Jeff Buckley. He's a big reason why I got into music. But is this really a Greatest Hits or a compilation. Cause it's kinda hard to make a Greatest hit off of 1 album. But some of his best songs are on Sketches For My Sweetheart.
Maybe they've got even more unreleased stuff....

One of my favorite artist so underrated. Crazy that he only released one album while he was alive, yet he has a greatest hits.

This man is possibly one of the greatest artists to have ever walked the planet. Beautiful voice, brilliant musician. Hopefully this release will allow Jeff Buckley to fall onto ears that have not been fortunate enough to hear him yet.

This is a lame money-grabbing idea. There's no need to get a greatest hits compilation when you could just spend around 50-60 bucks total and pick up the Legacy Editions of both "Grace" and "Sketches...," as well as the deluxe edition of his incredibly haunting live performance at Sin-e. A "greatest hits" collection for Jeff Buckley just sounds cheap and ridiculous. All the songs you'd ever need are on the deluxe/Legacy editions of the three aforementioned albums.

Definitely agreed. I am a HUGE Buckley fan, and there is absolutely no need for this. The only potential reason to pick this up is for I Know It's Over. The tracklisting didn't mention which medley it is taken from (almost always played with Hallelujah or Kangaroo) or if they will edit it into a standalone song, so that'll be the only thing worth checking out on this album.
I have mixed feeling about them putting Forget Her on this album. I am against it because he never even wanted the song released. He recorded it for Grace, then had it taken off the album because he felt it was too personal to release to the public. At the same time, it is my favorite Buckley song, it's beautiful melancholy is incredible. I thought putting it on the Legacy Grace was an iffy move, but putting it on a greatest hits seems wrong.
I do have to disagree about only needing those three albums. Another official release, Live at L'Olympia is a fantastic show. It's worth the price of the disc for Kick Out the Jams alone.

2. ** I Know It’s Over - Buckley and his band playing live at Sony Studios in New York for broadcast on WNEW on April 6, 1995, spacewalking with elegance through the harrowing resignation of "I Know It's Over" from the Smiths' 1986 album, The Queen is Dead. It was not included on the radio broadcast

This is sort of like the "Young person's introduction to Jeff Buckley" or whatever that cd is going to be called. I think Grace is essential for any music fan, you absolutely need that album, it's just so incredibly ridiculously wonderful. There's so much stuff you don't hear until you really delve into it... But everything else becomes essential. I just can't wait for the movie.

grace is one of the best albums in rock history. jeff buckley was well beyond his years with his musicianship and unique sound. just listen to the song grace and you can hear parts that sound like the music the mars volta put out over ten years later

That's cool. At least this cd has some reason to exist.

This is horrible...
I may well be far too drunk to comment, but this has got to be purely for money and cashing in on the OC generation of "fans"
