Jello Biafra (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jello_Biafra) has made a public statement (http://alternativetentacles.com/news.php?news_section=JELLO&window_size=15&sd=V3K27AY9pHyt10BO7Mm) about the use of "Too Drunk To Fuck" in one of the rape scenes in the upcoming Quentin Tarantino/Robert Rodriguez movie "Grindhouse."
East Bay Ray and Co. have gone ahead and cleared a cover version of Dead Kennedys' "Too Drunk to Fuck" for a brutal scene in Grindhouse, a 'double-feature' directed by Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez. This is their lowest point since Levi's. I Like some of Tarnatino's work, another place in the film might have been fine. But this goes against everything the Dead Kennedys stands for in spades. The scene is actually in the "Planet Terror" film directed by Rodriguez. Tarantino himself is pointing a gun at a disabled amputee woman's head yelling "Dance, Bitch!" as the Nouvelle Vague cover of "Too Drunk to Fuck" plays from a boombox. The terrified woman later "wins" by killing Tarantino, but that excuse does not rescue this at all. I wrote every note of that song and this is not what it was meant for.

Some people will do anything for money. I can't help but think back to how prudish Klaus Flouride was when he objected to H.R. Giger's painting on the "Frankenstien" poster, saying he couldn't bear to show it to his parents. I'd sure love to be a fly on the wall when he tries to explain putting a song in a rape scene for money to his teenage daughter.

The deal was pushed through by a new business manager the other three hired, Kevin Raleigh of Associated Talent Management (http://alternativetentacles.com/hasta.php?http://atmlosangeles.com) in Hollywood.

The soundtracks to Tarantino's movies are always extremely bad ass, so I'm going to trust his judgement.

I dont care if its a spoiler, I have a feeling there will be so much in this "double feature" that it really dosent matter, we'll get our fill, well if I see it, I still havent decided.

At first I was thinking this was going to be some political statement about something politically incorrect or too politically correct with a movie such as the other dude from Propaghandi bitching about The Departed but I think this is a valid complaint, I wouldnt want anything I wrote be playing while something like that is going down, even if its just a movie...well even if its just a Tarantino and Rodriguez movie.

Also, I'm sure Stealers Wheel doesn't support bank robbers torturing police officers but nonetheless "Stuck In The Middle With You" turns up in Reservior dogs during the very memorable scene.

At some point are we supposed to be alarmed by any piece of music turning up in a controversial scene?

who fucking cares if it's a spoiler. the guy is trying to send a message. and yeah, half the time people never notice exactly what song is playing in the soundtrack, especially in a climactic scene like this would appear to be. but just out of personal respect for the guy i appreciate and agree with what he's saying. how would you like to have something you created with your own personal meaning be used in conjunction with something horrible and against everything you stand for? that's not right.

This movie, like zillions of others, promotes sexism and degenerative behavior in such a nonsensical way, i can understand completely where he is coming from. the movie is fucking stupid

whats the number 1 reason movies are made?

to entertain
sure the movie companies maybe only seeing dollar signs but they still need to make something entertaining in order to make said dough.

now for the film makers involved in grindhouse i think we know they never have really anything important to say in their movies and the fact is they are purely entertaining movies. and these two shorts are suppose to be in the realm of 70's horror, sci-fi, explotation films. If you have seen anything like those kind of movies in your life you should have somewhat of an idea of what to expect from grindhouse only this is tarentino/rodriguez-asized.

besides does anyone know the song thats playing in the bar during the rape scene of jodie foster in the accused?

i dont care what the dead kennedys stand for
i dont condone rape
i get that its a movie
i want to see it

yeah, dude wouldn't want to offend his teenage daughter by telling her his song is in a rape scene.

if that's the case, dude better leave out the fact that the song is called "TOO DRUNK TO FUCK"

asshole.

thats what i was going to say. what a dick! its a fucking movie dude shut up! I agree that movie execs dont care about the movie but they care about the money but tarantino and rodriquez obviously dont care about money or they wouldnt be making this flick. think....tarantino could be making huge cash if he did something just like reservoir dogs or pulp fiction or maybe streched the kill bill series to a 3rd one(i know the story has ended after the 2nd one but im just trying to make a point) this film wont be a huige success and they are pushing for a nc 17 rating. what kind of movie that wants to make alot of money as jello states would go for that. God, he is such a douchebag. im excited about this movie, but i understand why someone wouldnt want to see it it is gory and gruesome but sexist? no! didnt you read the girl kills tarantino so obviously they are showing that a woman can overtake a man. how the fuck is that sexist? it is a piece of art just like the song is. and if you say it isnt a piece of art because of its graphic nature you are a fucktard and than neither is the beautiful song "too drunk to fuck" i have to say for being a liberal i thought he would be more openminded but i guess hes a fucking pussy just like all the conservatives eh? well ive made my rant for the day, and i normally dont post on here but this pissed me off.
