View Full Version : Not having a group...

My whole life I have had a close group of friends who I've spent all my time with (even when i was dating a girl for a year). I have a new girlfriend now, and we've been dating for a little over ten months. However, she lives back in my old town and I go and visit her about every other weekend. Therefore, closeness with any group that I had been a part of down here at school has pretty much evaporated. I feel like I don't have a close group of friends anymore, and it seems that I'm rarely the one getting the calls to hang out with people instead of making them. My girlfriend is in Indianapolis, and my two best friends are at Purdue and Ball State. Blah! Is it bad that I just want school to be out and just be able to go home and see all my good friends from high school?

No; I feel like that here when I think about my friends in California.
Just make sure you're not alienating any one that is willing to be friends with you.

I am in the exact situation. We have been dating for a year, and I go home every weekend. I have no friends here. Oh well.

i'd say just give it time...i went through the same thing in the beginning of this school year and thought i wouldn't be able to make friends, but eventually you'll find some and be happy

All of the people I would consider my best friends hate each other, so, I don't have a closeknit group either, like I did back home. I have to split my time between groups, and as a result don't really feel like I belong to either.

Yeah it was like that for me too...I was with a group of people for a long time..every weekend..until I realized that I didn't actually liked them.

I don't think I actually like any of my friends really.

Hah, ack. I'm slowly entering a new group of friends that I actually like...so I hope it works out.

I feel like it's not even possible to find a group of friends I actually like at my school.
But good luck:-)

all through high school i've floated between two really tight groups of friends, mainly because both little "cliques" hate each other and now i've grown completely apart from both mearly because one turned into a bunch of phoney/egotistical bitches that don't want me around and the others are pretty true blue, but our intrests have really diverged. so honestly, i'm in the situation but i can't tell you more than just do your own thing because i'm still trying to figure things out myself.

I haven't really made any good friends that I hang out with since I got to university this past fall. It sucks not having your old friends around. But I'll be home in a month, so me and the guys will hang out and cause trouble as usual.
