For 10 weeks leading up to the May 15th release date, Hopesfall (http://www.hopesfall.com) will debut one new song each week from the upcoming album on their myspace (http://www.myspace.com/hopesfall) page. The album, recorded at Vudu Studios in Long Island , NY with producer Mike Watts (As Cities Burn, As Tall As Lions) is the follow up to 2004’s A-Types. For more information on the journey to Magnetic North read the following press release.
The title Magnetic North, is a metaphor for personal searches, tells singer Jay Forrest. “Magnetic North is an analogy to something constant that’s always wandering, like the magnetic poles that are always there but consistently moving. This record was a very personal search quest, taking a bit of angst from our earlier album Satellite Years and a bit of instrumentation from A-Types and progressing much more forward.”
Trustkill is quite excited about the album, and label president Josh Grabelle explains their motives on previewing each track week by week. "Hopesfall fans have waited far too long to only get a mere glimpse at the sheer brilliance of this new album. It is a true escape of the senses and can be appreciated only be listening to it as a whole, which is why we've chosen to give the fans the opportunity to preview the entire album." The journey will also include multiple interactive contests involving the album. Fans will be sharing the Journey to Magnetic North on their own MySpace profiles, as well as scouring the website of Strhessclothing.com for hidden clues to continue their discovery of the new album.
Also, enter the bands contest right here (http://www.trustkill.com/contests/hopesfallmagneticnorth/), where 10 lucky fans will win a copy of Magnetic North, a posted & t-shirt.

May 15? Damn, this record came out of nowhere.
I hope they're still spacey and haven't gone all cock-rock on us.

...taking a bit of angst from our earlier album Satellite Years....
well then how does the sound of TSY work into their newest album?
i wish i could hear it but i never have access to Myspace anymore.
Man what a great metalcoreish type band back in the day, it's a shame what there music is now, such a downward spiral of crap. They are like that fucking hot beautiful girl around your age in your town that you are like, "damn she is hot" but has had the same dickbag loser boyfriend with a lifted truck who is still listening to Hoobastank and Breaking Benjamin and you are like "what a waste of a perfect girl"
that's what the talent is in Hopesfall, perfect waste. :-(

well, when a band follows that cd up with such a horrible album, most people forget about them. i have the satellite years.
hahaha, you are on the anti-bro warpath this week.
you must have missed the memo:
Feburary: Black History Month
well they(bros) got so mad they declared...
March: Bro Month
hahaha...what a funny analogy.
I'm sure you have a pretty girl like that in your town or that you know...
i'm sorry but this band just sucks now.. i don't care when bands have line up changes but this band is 100% opposite of the old .hopesfall. does anyone remember them before this? this just isn't even close to the old line up.. not to mention theyre not a christian band now.. but they still complain about that label.. well duh. you have the same name. give me a break.. it's just my opinion but this stuff doesn't match up ...hopefully this new album will be much better than the last one.

I think you're thinking of BROVEMBER.
oh and this new song is good... sounds like it could have been on A Types, though.

I think people need to shut the fuck up about Hopesfall having changed their sound after The Satellite Years. Seriously, it's been years and it's not like they're gonna go back, so get over it. That being said, A Types was a great album and I'm definitely looking forward to Magnetic North.

this band only has one original member...and i never knew they were ever a christian band. then again look at Zao. Zao has changed every member of their band and they no longer declare themselves christians anymore.
i love hopesfall. i "celebrate" their entire catalog. as much as i love Hopesfalls first 3 albums back when their music was "harder" i still loved A Types and i'm sure i'll really like Magnetic North.

but i don't think of Hopesfall like that. i've always been a fan of all their music.

ps. A Types > Frailty of Words.
I think you're thinking of BROVEMBER.

Why dont we give all the bros 2 months dedicated in their name, since there are so many of them out there, they could use 2 out of the 12 months in the year for such great acknowledgement of everything they offer to every town and community they creep in.
I'm sure this record will sound like A Types anyway...or not too far off.

First new songs up... It's pretty sweet. I really don't understand the haters on A-Types. I really like most everything they have released except for really old songs before The Frailty of Words.
