Philadelphia based rock band that was founded at the University of Delaware after the band members found they were bored with the current music scene and wanted to create change. Each song on the band's debut EP represents a small portion of a larger story that the band plans to reveal over time.
How Is It?
The Canon Logic's EP is different from a majority of their peers who are currently starting up bands. Instead of starting up a band that has copious amounts of over-the-top screaming or repetitive power chords, The Canon Logic decided to draw their influences from bands like The Beach Boys and The Beatles. "The Run" opens up the band's debut EP with sunny melodies and smooth vocal harmonies that really show the bands influences. "The Run" blends these classical influences with a hint of The Shins to create an infectious, feel good indie track that is practically guarenteed to make your worries melt away. "Mona Lisa" takes cues from the actual painting Mona Lisa and details the man's female muse. While still utilizing the vocal harmonies that serve as a cornerstone of this band's sound, the song has a less bubbly personality. The Canon Logic are a truly remarkable band, bringing back an old pop style while managing to make it their own. Listening to The Canon Logic's EP will virtually transport you back into the 1960's, back when pop music was enjoyable with its sunny melodies and sincere songwriting. The Canon Logic have tons of raw talent to perfect their style, and it is refreshing to hear a band that does not sound like thousands of other bands around and who bring back a style of music that hasen't been run into the ground.
