I don't know if anybody will check these out, but I have five minutes, so ..
The new Air Traffic (http://myspace.com/airtraffic) single, "Charlotte", has been rocking my world, as well as the new Good Shoes (http://myspace.com/goodshoes) album, and the demos for The Maccabees (http://myspace.com/themaccabees)' forthcoming effort. Also check out Ghosts (http://myspace.com/ghostsuk) new adorable single, "Stay the Night".
Oh, and I'm going to plug my journal, which now features track reviews (http://www.absolutepunk.net/journal.php?do=showjournal&j=608). So far, I've gone through Arctic Monkeys and Los Campesinos! recent singles.

Blink 182 - Self-Untitled: Just listened to this again for the first time in ages and it's such a solid record, so I suggest giving it a spin.
Ted Leo & The Pharmacists (http://www.myspace.com/tedleo") - Living With The Living: Mr. Leo is one of the most consistently strong songwriters of our generation, and his blend of various styles from punk to country and even a bit of a dub sound on one track here certainly keeps things interesting.
Brunswick (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofi le&friendID=4840520): I had the chance to see these guys live as an opening act for the Moneen/Damiera tour in Boston last week and they're some talented kids. Not great yet, but they've got some skill and will be making a name for themselves soon enough.
Kevin Devine (http://www.myspace.com/kevindevine): I got to see him live for the first time opening for Brand New earlier this week and I was thorougly impressed. Mr. Devine has an impressive and diverse catalog so I recommend you just start from the beginning (Circle Gets The Square - thank you stilltheoptimist) and work your way up. Also, he and The Goddamn Band do a killer version of Neutral Milk Hotel's "Holland 1945" which you can hear on the new 2007 Tour EP.
Lastly, I must recommend Fly Upright Kite (http://www.myspace.com/flyuprightkite): They're my boys and I finally got a chance to hang out with them and see them play at that same show with Brunswick and I was even more impressed with their live show than I am with their EP (Every Breathing Moment). Head on over to their Purevolume page (http://www.purevolume.com/flyuprightkite) to stream their entire EP and a full live set (including 4 new songs) and some other tracks. They plan to head into the studio early this summer, so look for a new full-length from them by fall (hopefully).

WOW, JASON! Those are the best recomendations ever!! You totally just captured like my favorites in all those picks! I still listen to ALL that stuff on a Regular Basis!! Those picks are what I would consider PERFECT music, Nothing compares to all that good old pop punk. That was the best Era ever, and will always live on!! No bands today compare to that era of music, Jasons picks totally capture the greatest era of music in my opinion!!!!! I totally love, blink, fenixtx, nfg, slick shoes, mxpx, sum41,saves the day, homegrown. those are like still my favorite bands. The So Cal surf-skate pop punk sound is the greatest! As far as music goes today, I must say I am happy with "mutiny" by set your goals, it has some really good poppunk elements in it. I just so miss this style of music, and everything that goes along with it. But.... supposdly sum41 and mxpx new album are supposed to go back to the old skool sound so I am SO excited!!

top recs Jason, sure brings back memories, they just dont make pop punk like they used to!

I think its Brunswick, might be a different B band but anyways. Those guys have been around for a few years here and have had many line up changes. They just haven't gotten their shit together yet. I haven't seen a recent live show but I wasn't impressed in the past.

Most of my music listening was in the car, so this is mostly what I had in there plus some other stuff.
The Broken West - I Can't Go On, I'll Go On. Destined to be under appreciated this year.
Spoon - Kill the Moonlight. Easily my favorite Spoon album.
Sage Francis - Anything. I had a little bit of old (Sick of Waging War) and some newer stuff with me. I can't wait to pick up the new album.
Page France - Come, I'm A Lion. The more I listen to it, the more I realize it's just about on par with Hello, Dear Wind. The closing track is absolutely wonderful and I love the lyrics on this album as a whole.
The National - Alligator. I never seem to listen to these guys as much as I should, but it sounds great this morning.
Great Lake Swimmers (http://myspace.com/greatlakeswimmers) - Ongiara.
Ambient/Folk for fans of Red House Painters/Sun Kil Moon, Will Oldham, Damien Jurado, Shearwater, Iron & Wine.
Let's Go Sailing (http://myspace.com/letsgosailing) - The Chaos in Order
Indie pop for fans of Rilo Kiley, Oh No! Oh My!, and the like.
Grant-Lee Phillips (http://myspace.com/grantleephillips) - Strangelet
Singer-Songwriter/Americana for fans of Grant-Lee Buffalo, Mark Kozelek, etc.
If you actually read most/all of this say hi so I know it wasn't pointless. Hope you find something interesting in this post. :-)
