(other than the fact that NPR is quite liberal)
Radio Announcer voice: 'in other news tonight a democrat bitched about something....'
is it me or are the dems doing nothing but whine these days? do you think Americans really want to hear it? Is it a political... turn on? Do you think they are bitching way too much... or do you think they are actually being suttle and quiet about things?
speak.

Basically, whomever doesnt have political control in the US at the time (right now the Dems) will find little things to bitch about, always, even the Republicans did it during the eight Clinton years, not neccesarily to the extent that the Dems are doing it now, but still complaining. Honestly, I do think that the Democrats are a bunch of complaining assholes who will do anything to sabotoge Bush, no matter what the cost be, ie. economic slump, continued genocide in Iraq, overflow of illegals into the country etc. Democrats are out there for themselves and themselves only, not to say that Republicans arent either, but I dont ever recall Republicans shooting down something just to stop the Democrats from accomplishing something...correct me if I am wrong

first off y are yall complaining about dems complaining. what would you call what the republicans were doing while clinton was in office. and unless i'm mistaken:
1- no sane person would say bush has "controll"
and
2- dems have the majority

I agree with what you are saying because during the Clinton Administration we bitched but the Republicans are the majority.

Agreed. The democrats are shooting their mouths off at every little thing this administration does with the hope of some of it catching the attention of the American public. But I don't think that Bush could foul things up so badly where the Dems could get the public into an uproar.
I don't think any of this is really a new development, politicians who don't get their way bitch.
And there's nothing wrong with it, you should stand up and bitch for what you believe in. If the public doesn't care, it will fall on deaf ears. We're not going to silence someone.

That's what bothers me most about the Dems. It's almost like they're cheering for the economy to go down the tubes just so they can take control of Congress and the presidency again. It's almost sickening sometimes. Almost like fleeing your state to avoid a vote on something... :o

This is the Democrat's problem: instead of offering any ideas, optimism, or inspiration, they tell everyone what Bush is doing wrong. This is not the way to lead a nation, and anyone who tries to take office by saying "I'm not as bad as this guy" deserves to lose, which is what the Democrats seem to be doing recently.

And not to say that Republicans havent done it in the past, because I know they have, but to the extent that the Dems have done it....?

You're doing a better job at disguising your bias. BUT! The republicans voted down tons of things while Clinton was in office. They voted down economic plans, environmental plans and plenty of other bills. And also the Democrats really can't vote anything down, that's because the GOP has the majority in Congress, so when things are voted down it's not JUST the democrats, it's some republicans too.

I am not a political master, but I do believe that some votes take a 2/3 majority...and some just a simple, but even in the case of a simple majority, the Republican party isnt overwhelmingly dominant in Congress...so a few votes could turn the tables...and yes the Republicans had blocked a few bills during Bill's term, but look at the hell that the democrats are giving Bush right now... and I dont ever recall the Republicans giving hell to Clinton on something like visiting troops on an aircraft carrier, I mean that is the president's job to do stuff like that (9th grade Civics, President is the US's cerimonial head, and no that doesnt mean getting head in the oval office)...so, sure it goes both ways, but...just look at it
