The Spill Canvas (www.absolutepunk.net/thespillcanvas) are now in Los Angeles recording their new, major label debut album. It seems it's going to be some time before it's released, so the band decided in order to keep fans sane until then they'll release an EP. More than likely, the EP will be released on May 1st and will include three original songs and two covers.

As much as I'd really like to see their new full-length out soon, I can deal with an EP.

I'm guessing its gonna be the record label's fault that the album isnt out for some time. I'm sure they could be done recording by late april and production and stuff should only take a few months. Therefore, I think the album COULD be out in like late August, but I think the label will push it back to like October.

i'm sure technically they COULD rush the album out sooner, but they want to have time to properly promote it. this is an important juncture for the band, and putting the album out too early won't do anything to help them, whereas if they take time to build more anticipation from a wider audience, they're more likely to be successful. granted, i want an album soon as much as anyone, but i don't blame anyone for it taking awhile.

Yes I agree. However, One Fell Swoop was supposed to make them bigger than they are and didnt. They got on some decently sized tour (Sugarcult, Halifax, etc) but seriously I wish they could just do an entire US headlining run. They havent been to the Northwest since February 2006. Not their fault I'm sure but still I MISS THEM HAHA
