before going to this show, i was a tad skeptical, because ive heard that nothing good has ever come out of the detroit warped stops. but yesterday was probably the best day ive ever had in my life.
it didnt matter what stage you were at, there were mass singalongs at every single stage, even the local stage!

first band i saw was yellowcard. they put on an amazing show. musically they are a great live band. they have alot of energy and they just love rocking out as hard as they can.

next for me was the ataris. ive been waiting 4 years to see these guys live, because i can never seem to get to their shows that they have around here. and i ALMOST missed them yesterday. but alas, after 4 years i finally saw them. so i jumped into the pit, which turned into a madhouse as soon as they took stage. everyone knew every lyric to every song. kris just had the entire fucking crowd at the tip of his fingers. after 4 years, it was definately worth the wait.

my favorite set was brand new. i cant even begin to explain how much they rocked. every song they did, from STGGF, to seventy times seven, was completely unbelievable. i thought the ataris pit was rocking out hard, the brand new pit was 10x harder. everyone had their hands in the air, screaming word for word along with jesse. and who can ferget the masses of pot being smoked in the pit. by the time i got out, i was drenched in sweat and barely able to stand. in any other situation this would suck, but at warped tour, it concidered a battle scar saying you survived one of the most hard rocking shows ive ever been too.

i would take the time to talk aboot all the bands i saw, but thats a hell of alot of typing...so anyone wanna take it from here?

wow! i think the best set played was count the stars'. even tho they are pretty well unknown and poppy, i was AMAZED at the number of ppl at their set at the volcom stage. they fucking rocked. the mix was about as good as you can get it, and their sound was about the deepest at the silverdome. afterwards i met the guys at their tent and they seemed really cool and appreciative. anyways, then i saw brand new. i thought jess' vocals were WAY off. wow... it almost sounded like he was going thru puberty again! haha jk, but it was ok. i was glad they played 70 times 7, that was sweet. also, TSL was pretty bad ass, but i think they were a little too tired to be playing at 12. it was pretty sweet, excpet for the fact that MEST wasnt there... : (

i want my $30 back..

I went to Warped Tour really wanting to see Mest then to find out they weren't playing for some reason. So I was bummed out about that. So I walked around with a friend, smoked some pot and tried to enjoy Simple Plan but I just couldn't get into that. The Used weren't that great and either were the Ataris. When I was walking around I noticed the drummer from Mest walking around with some guy so I went up to him and talked and got his autograph. He said Tony's back was all fucked up and still in Toronto in a hospital. So I wasnt having that fun of a time until that and then when I got nice and close for Pennywise who fucking kicked ass. They had some nice circle pits goin on which was fun as hell and finally there was a good show. Rancid fucking kicked ass too those were the two best bands.

I have to agree.... I was skeptical of going this year because last year was so crappy, but there was actual room to move this year! I wasn't really into the main stage bands (I've had enough of Simple Plan being spoon fed to me by every kid's network on TV) because I had the most fun at the Maurice Stage and Ernie Ball Stage. My favorites were Jackson, One Man Army, Slick Shoes and Rancid. I have never seen Rancid live, nor have I been a big fan, but they had so much energy, and they make it cool to rock when you get older. One Man Army didn't draw much crowd, but it was still awesome. I've been a fan for awhile. Anyway, I'm glad I didn't let my opinion of last year's stop in Detroit spoil my opinion of Warped Tour this year.... it was great.
