I dont mind Anti-Flag...they have some good songs. Their not the best, but still better than listening to Brand new, TBS, etc.

yeah, anti-flag has a boatload of stuff that'll reel in any kids that are new to punk. all that "we're political, we're good guys" stuff.

they seem confused at times, as far as what they want.

they actually DO stuff, though, so that's good.

and they're just really good songwriters. new kind of army was awesome, most of underground network.

some of the newer stuff is kind of repetitive. there's only so many ways to talk about the issues they're against, you know?

hmmm. the old stuff is okay. system doesn't work for you, the album, most of its pretty shitty. die for your government is mostly good.

i think, overall, anti-flag is a pretty good band. and they sure beat the hell out of whiny emo bands, screaming emo bands, "we're not really emo" emo bands, and "i don't think you can classify our music" emo bands.

AHHHH . I KNOW! that realy bugs me about them. its like OK WE FUcking GET IT. but otherwise i like them , political bands are cool , theyre better than most, and i like that they are sxe and vegetarians, that shows a certain moral strength.

ptw is one of the most criminally overrated bands ever. they are boring and monotonous and sing songs about girls and killing girls and how they can't love anymore... boo hoo hoo.

and the whole anti-violent, and the killing rich people, that was a long time ago. i doubt that they still perform the songs.

"this machine kills fascists" isn't about killing fascists. it's about this one guy who has that written on his guitar. like, woody guthrie or something.

First off that is not what PTW sings about. You obviously have never read any of their lyrics.

oh. and they're still on an independent label. fat wreck is just a SUCCESSFUL independent label.

and they're not anti-corporate. they hate exploitative (is that a word?) and (for lack of a better word) mean corporations, but not all. i was at the warped tour they were at, and justin told everyone that he thought getting their messages and ideas out to a larger crowd (speaking to the crowd at their own shows is like preaching to the converted) was more important than what kind of sponsorship the tour had. vans might be a nice shoe company. i don't know.

i think a-f has some good ideas. they're not doing everything right or everything to implement the ideas, but they're doing okay.

actually, you're right. i was being unfair to ptw.

they also sing songs about being depressed, suicide, being depressed, the world ending, being sad, being depressed, being mad and depressed, being mad and sad, being depressed and mad, being depressed and sad and mad, and zombies being good for your health.

they are (lyrically) an emo band. the music may be heavy, and the vocals may be heavy (or the oh so awesome rhythmically spoken words), but the lyrics are pure emo whimpering.

i dont care if theyre confused, i like anti-flag. theyre songs are good. and although i may not entirely agree with "you gotta die for your goverment, thats shit". i do agree with "i dont wanna kill (i dont wanna die) I dont wanna die ( I dont wanna kill)" so whatever, they instrumentals are cool.
