the deftones arent that good. but korn has found something new to write about (did my time) but really if you were beaten and abused by your family it would be hard to get over. the deftones just sing long songs and repeat themselves the whole time. take be quiet and drive (far away) for example he wrote 2 or 3 verses and just sung those over and over for over 5 minutes. it gets boring.

be quiet and drive is a good song , and korn is overrated , johns voice blows and cant even sing

johns voice is orginal. he has a deep voice which is kinda different. nowadays you gotta sound like a girl or your not gonna make it big. in minerva (deftones) chino sounds like a girl. not during the chorus but during the first verse he does.

chino has always sung like that tho, and john does have an incredibly shitty ass voice....deftones may repeat themselves in a song because that's just what they want to do - why the fuck would they want to be like everyone else and sing the same, play the same music, etc. etc...korn needs to actually spend time and write some descent music instead of spending their time wasting the millions of dollars they have...

Korn is ok, they have their good songs and their bad songs, but they are tolerable for the most part.

Deftones are annoying, I really cannot sit thru a single song of theirs, it just irritates me. I don't even know exactly what it is that bugs me, but I can't if i wanted to listen long enough.

that's rediculous, the genre is defined by
1) sound, and both of those bands fall into the nu-metal category for that

2) when the band started in comparison to metal. metal's been around since the late 60's black sabbath is commonly recognized as the first metal band, and they started in '66. so the past decade in which these 2 'bands' started is insignificant compared to the 4 metal has been around for.

in summary; nu-metal sucks, as do korn and deftones
