Good question. I'd have to say Skiba, even though I like Alk3. When you listen loud on headphones, you can hear his voice crack and everything. But with that kind of band, it adds up pretty good.
well punk and bad vocals go hand in hand, so i don't see how it would be fair to nominate only one.

well it depends on your definition of "good" i like punk singers, but most (all) of them don't have talent. there's a difference between having a good voice and being a talented singer.

Im not saying this too anyone in particular but punk rock isn't supposed to be pussy melody shit. fat mike is good cause he doesn't try to sing and whine and crap.
when i hear punk rock, i don't want melody and singing, i want crappy musicians and crappy singers playing fast.
he's right...I just checked the dictionary...and the definition of punk music SPECIFICALLY mentioned no pussy melody shit.

Isn't having a good voice having a talent?

Yes. But good singing is for the alternative rock market.

a person is born with a voice, there is no way to change the voice you're born with, so that can't be classified as talent. talent can be classified by vocal range, melodies, keys, musical knowledge, etc. which is absent in punk
so basically what i'm saying is a pimply faced kid with a whiney pubescent screaching voice can still have talent even if his voice is hard to listen to, the same way a person can have the best voice in the world, but no talent at all

Well, i think there are melodies in much of punk, considering a melody is "a rhythmic succession of single tones organized as an aesthetic whole", which is basicially music in a whole, even though punk is just much faster and blatant. However, you can take vocal lessons to tune your voice, making it a talent. But i agree with you in that you have to be born with a talent.

i have a large vocal range, does that mean i have talent? not sure about the rest of the things.

it means you have potential. the hardest part about singing is getting your range down

I'd say it's gotton worse, he sounds like shit in boxcar racer
his pitch is really bad, he has this whiney, high voice that hurts my ears esp. on tiny voices live

if you wanna associate the starting line with punk music, i'll have to go with Kenny's voice. god, it is just awful. he sounds like a 10 year old performing at the elementary school talent show. man, that dude pisses me off.
tom's voice in boxcar racer is annoying also. i think his voice sounds perfect in "enema of the state" though.
and the guy from allister can't sing to save his life.
