Hahahaha, exactly! I think this is a horrible way for labels to find bands.

i voted for this dude, his stuff has potential. I like his arrangements... but his voice not so much.

Indeed. I think his stuff is mediocore. I know bands that sound much better and are still unsigned.

He looks a lot like Jonathan Jones (Waking Ashland) circa composure.

This isn't a contest for Drive-Thru to find artists... it's a contests for artists to have an opportunity to have their music recorded with a good producer in a better studio and have it distributed by Drive-Thru. I think it's a great thing they do with this.

The last band who won, Say No More, is currently recording a full length for Drive Thru.

Congrats Jesse!

BTW, do you work for Drive-Thru?

We got 6th place last year, which helped us get a ton of great shows and contacts, but meanwhile the winner is DOA.

i hate this. i thought last years winners were no good. i listened to this guy and he has some potential, but it wasn't my favorite. i just think that it is lame. there are so many better bands out their.

I think that there were more deserving and harder working bands that deserved this.

Yeh well keep in mind they is an unlimited amount of bands with a mass amount of talent that isn't signed. Also, there are alot of bands who aren't very good and have legions of fans ... so this contest might just be a reflection of what the overall trend is.

i remember after i heard Strike.Fire.Fall on the purevolume/drive thru compilation, they won the contest for takeover and have pretty much done nothing

Not every talented band is signed, nor signed to a big label, with big opportunities. There's tons of cruddy artists making cruddy music with huge opportunities. We can't win. We can only hope fans judge talent accordingly right?

No, I don't. Just a fan of the bands. :)
