Okay just kidding here is my whole review, but really...holy shit!
Great show overall. So many musicians on stage at all times!
Manchester Orchestra (800-825):
This was the first time I had seen these guys and they do NOT disappoint. Songs like Where Have You Been and I Can Barely Breathe remind me so much of Brand New and the crowd was LOVING them. I was surprised that quite a few people knew the words to their songs. I knew the two songs that I mentioned from checking them out earlier. They also played Golden ticket and two other songs I could not tell you the names of. Jessee Lacey and various other band members from Brand New and Kevin Devine's band joined them on stage for a number of their songs. Solid set overall!
Kevin Devine (835-910):
I didnt know anything about this guy except for his name before tonight. He put on a fun set and the crowd was alright for him too. There were 13 members on stage for the Neutral Milk cover and it was an amazing musical display by everyone, including Jesse who was playing the horn AND singing!
Brand New (950-1150):
The crowd got very ancy waiting for Brand New to start (it took 40 minutes for them to set up). They started a fairly weak "Brand New" chant that lasted about a minute and Jesse came out a few minutes later. The set list is as follows. The *'d songs were highlights of the night for me.
Jude Law (First verse and Chorus then directly into....)
Seventy Times 7
Shower Scene
The No Seatbelt Song*
Soco Amaretto Lime*
Tautou
Sic Transit Gloria
I Will Play My Game...
Tommy Gun*
Quiet Things
The Boy Who Blocked His Own Shot*
Jaws Theme Swimming
Me vs. Maradona vs. Elvis
Guernica
Good to know if...
Play Crack The Sky*
Welcome to Bangkok
Sowing Season
Millstone
Luca
Archers
Jesus Christ* (such a beautiful song)
Degausser
You Won't Know*
The ending was amazing...Jesse screamed "You Won't Know" into the mic about 20 times while laying pretty much collapsed on the ground.
The crowd was insanely energetic and I was glad I was watching from the 21+ balcony:)
The only problems I had with their set were sometimes the vocals were too quiet (probably the venues fault). However, i LOVED it when Jesse screamed into the mic at various phases of the night!
Security was EXTRA strict tonight as there were no cameras allowed, and if anyone was caught trying to take pictures with their cell phones they had flash lights shined into their faces until they stopped using their phones.
Also, there was a little too much chatting between crowd members during some of the more quiet Brand New songs which kind of bothered me, but hey what are you gonna do.
Overall, probably the best show I have ever been to. Great performances by all bands, and an amazing set by Brand New!

Haha, I snuck in a camera. I only took two pictures very quickly though. I had a great time. Jesse totally creeped me out at first. I was watching Manchester and he's like staring at me and my friend. i didn't recognize him right away because of the facial hair.

it was loads of fun but i just did not like how they did it chronologically. i wanted more upbeat stuff from your favorite weapon. i really liked the deja entendu part, it was just beautifully intense. but stuff from the new album just felt like a downer for some reason, like a lullaby or something.
jesse also seemed out of it so i was not too pleased with their show presence (come on, no condescending mumbling/rambling please) but their music was on like no other. that is what i came for: brand new music and i left a very happy camper.

Best show I've ever been to.
I didn't recognize Jude Law... strange.
Most memorable songs for me were Soco, Tautou (Sent so many shivers down my spine), Sic Transit, Okay I Believe you.. (T'was really timeless), Good to Know That.., Sowing Season, Luca (Probably most energetic moment of the night), Jesus Christ, Degausser, You Won't Know.
Am I the only one who thought the only problem was the crowd? Everyone seemed overly enthusiastic at the wrong times and had horrible hygiene.

I liked the chronological order, it showed their progression. I'm sure it is hard for them to play the new songs night after night though because they are already on stage for an hour and a half before they even play any. Plus Jesus Christ is a beautiful song and Degausser and You Wont Know were amazing!
I thought the crowd looked pretty bad ass from up in the balcony because there was so much movement and everyone was singing along....I couldnt tell you about hygiene because i wasnt down there:)

Agreed...but I guess that's what we get for sitting in the balcony.
I was actually sitting next to a girl who was complaining loudly for at least the last half hour because the show was going on so long...boggles the mind.

as long as you are going to the first LA date you should get the full set. I'd try to go to both dates if I were you to be sure though.

the crowd was intense at the start during the first few songs but it then mellowed out. um, as for hygiene, it was not too great.
i thought guernica was very well done but i am still kind of pissed how they opened the show with jesse speaking half of jude law. that was weird.
overall though, i was amazed. and bothered by the fact that the girls behind me thought that songs from your favorite weapon must be off the new cd because they have never heard them. lame.

that's funny. and sad.
honestly, i could have used some secondary and i've always wanted to hear mix tape live. that would have been great. it was fun despite those two flaws.

it would have been the best...
amazing concert though.
WOW. Thats a perfect set. We didnt get Jude Law, Seventy Times 7, Soco, Quiet Things, Me vs. Maradona vs. Elvis, Guernica or Good to know.. at the New Orleans show. But the set got cut short due to a new rule that all ages show have to be over at 10pm.
Soooo shitty. But was still an amazing show.

I am insanely jealous. A friends of mine saw pretty much the same set list in Columbus. I'm glad you had a good time. After seeing a show like that, I could honestly say I would die happy.
