good for them, as much as it seems crazy there are good people over at epic that will work hard for a band.

was it garett press that called this a long time ago? when he mentioned them being the next big thing it was their first time being posted on the news page and the first time i'd ever heard of them. good call, garett. good job white tie.

Yeah, what the hell? They (he) haven't even played their first show yet.

The White Tie Affair definitely does NOT deserve this.

Why doesn't sombody sign Glory Nights (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofi le&friendID=9911278) or The Dangerous Summer (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofi le&friendID=103298179) or Goot (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofi le&friendID=6831854)or The Mile After (http://profile.myspace.com/index.cfm?fuseaction=user.viewprofi le&friendID=3103177) or a million of other unsigned bands that work their asses off to get some attention? Not some Panic wannabe. Actually I think White Tie sound like a boyband more than anything. I definitely hear some traces of 5ive or Nsync in them.

what is the music industry? it is a business. a slow and dying one. are the dangerous summer or the mile after going to sell 100k copies of their albums? no they aren't. do you want epic records to keep putting our any records at all? if so, then stop complaining about majors signing bands like the white tie affair. why is it that whenever a "scene" band gets signed to a major without enough "cred" or "putting in enough time" people flip out like weirdos. record labels like epic and signings like this one are never going to please you because you simply do not get it.

I don't care whether or not Epic puts out albums. What I do care about are bands that get recognized for riding trends and doing nothing beyond that. Plus The White Tie Affair makes god-awful "music."

Recognize bands that actually deserve the attention.

QUIT HATING!

i understand that they haven't played a show.
i understand that they don't have a cd yet.

these dudes just got signed to a major. and TO THEIR CREDIT, they did it WITHOUT playing a show, and WITHOUT a tour or album....

what would you do if someone offered that to you??

good for them on getting signed. thats an amazing opportunity. (although i would imagine that being on an indie would've been wiser.....the success rate of major label bands is astronimically small)

You don't care if epic puts out albums? That's a shame. You're just not getting it, my friend. And you're upset about bands getting recognized for following trends? Wow. Every band you listed that you think deserves attention is chasing trends just as bad as The White Tie Affair. You're only fooling yourself if you think The Mile After or The Dangerous summer are at all unique (or even that good) they are just 1 of literally millions of bands chasing the pop-punk trend that's been happening for 10 years. At least the Panic! At the Disco trend is a new one. And do you even know The White Tie Affair or how hard they've worked to get where they are? Probably not, I'm sure they are a little more than an instant success. Is there some sort of unspoken rule about just how much work one has to put in before "making it"? Dang, you should write The White Tie Affair a letter an explain to them the error of their ways. They'd probably feel really bad for being too successful too fast. And you're right, every mediocre pop-punk band wasting their lives away in smelly vans should all have 6 figure record deals.

No band is doing anything "original" - and basically every label is looking to cash in on any band they sign. That's why they sign them.

What is there to "prove wrong" -- if you're sitting around complaining about a band signing to a label -- you're beyond hope. There's nothing you can do to change it - it doesn't matter - and you look like a pedantic twat with sand in your vagina.

Don't need to prove anyone wrong ... but I'll respond anyway.

Decaydance / Fueled By Ramen already have Panic! At The Disco, Cobra Starship and (somewhat) recently added Powerspace from Chicago who have ,what is in my opinion, a similar sound to The White Tie Affair.

i think its funny how kids here talk about wanting bands signed or whatever. But only if the band is worthy to them. In that situation its all aobut a matter of opinon. But in the end isnt this what we all want? Bands ot be signed and recognized for the music they are making? In the end its a goal that everyone wants bands they support to achieve. Who gives a shit if TWTA is sigend to epc. Thats great for them and if I remember corrently The Mile After was on Rushmre at one point were they not? Or maybe they lied to me in the message i got from them before i added them on myspace. Like osmeone siad before just because they dont play a ton of shows and get signed doesnt mean they havent worked to get where they are they obviously went about it a differnet way. a label just doenst sign anyone they choose obviously. There is nothing special that makes these bands pop out that have been mentioned earlier. TMA reminds me uf an unsigned version of Cartel. All this is is just matters of opinon. I didnt know it was so hard to say something nice to someone or give some one kudos for something good coming thier way. INstead of complaining move on with your life. Them being signed to Epic doesnt mean anything other than they got signed. I still have to get up and go to work tomorrow I mena why get so upset over it. Who cares you dont like them thats great at least have the decency and respect as a person to let it go and be happy for someones successes.

It's amazing how much of an idiot you are. Obviously a multinational corp. like Epic knows what they are doing, if that's even true...which It seems it's just a big marketing scheme to get people like to spread the word; and in your case via 'hate'. Ask eminem, even bad publicity, is publicity and exposure. Everyone is playing into their hand and i don't think they sound like panic, but that's the only bad that's sorta related to their sound.
Besides, that scene, no matter how much you don't like it, is getting big as hell. Get over, just because your probably in a metal band that does crappy shows for little pay and can't get a 'break'. It's because you don't know how to pitch your band...it is still, after all, a business. Duche Bag.

Hahahahahahahahahaha!!!!!

You really went back about 20 or more pages in the news to find this thread and tell me off? You are absolutely pathetic. The only way I found out about this is because I saw that you quoted me.

So I'm assuming that you are in this boy-band. You're right. They/you DON'T sound like Panic. They/you sound like 5ive or Nsync or any of those other boy-bands. You suck, your music sucks, and you're basically just like all those radio bands that just try to write hits and that is it. Ya know what, you can have all those Nickelback fans, I really don't care. I've come to realize that TWTA signing to a major could be a good thing because they'd realize how pitiful and gimmicky they are and then go die.

Oh, and I'm not in a band at all, nor do I like metal. So you can suck on that.

everyone needs to stop bashing these guys they have played many shows the have many fans they do sound excellent and they are way better than any band that you could ever think of these guys have been my friends for many years now so you need to stop bashing them they deserve the break that they have gotten and you guys are just pissed off because you think they are shit but if you took the time out to go to one of their shows or watch a video from one of there shows you would see that they are a great chicago band and they do not give chicago a bad rep so just shut up and m.y.o.b

chrissytwtalova

haha, only one of them is from chicago.. the rest of them are from all over! Tim (Mr. Refuses to give his last name....cough, bullcrap, its on their myspace) and Sean are from Indiana, and Jeremy, Chris, and Ryan are from the suburbs. Who cares how old they really are, what their marital status is (oh, did I just let out a secret?) or any of their personal information. In fact, it's no ones business. Maybe their families don't want stalkers (evil laugh.....Tim isn't hard to find in NWI) Do you really think that most famous musicians don't lie their asses off? It's all about a target audience, do your homework. Does it matter that they don't want people showing up at their houses or calling their house? No. Does it matter they didn't play a show before they got signed? No. I't s kinda sad that all the jealous people are bitching about it. Maybe they are just that good....even if they're not, quit hating and don't buy the cd if you don't like them. Now, go get a life, a haircut, and get laid and off the computer like a good douche.
