Have they released what he has? This is the second tour he's gotten really sick on. I hope it's nothing really serious.

He's had a virus since childhood. But he hasn't gotten sick like this, I mean, not continually.

I was wondering what band would pull an April Fools joke... which group will go on or come off of hiatus or something as a gag... I hope that Frank's ok though!

again, I hope he's going to be alright.
I was at the MCR London show on Friday and Frank played the entire Black Parade set lying down and didn't play the encore so I don't think it's an April Fools.

I don't know if he's leaving the actual full tour though. I heard it was just food poisoning, since he was fine playing the night before.

I kind of wish Gerard would be a little more serious about things like that, you know, stop talking like he has mental problems and saying "fucking" in every sentence.

Frank actually suffers from Epstein Bar (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Epstein_Barr) virus. It's an extremely common form of lesser Herpes. Usually it's asymptomatic (no measurable symptoms), but it attacks the immune system in unpredictable waves and causes flare-ups of latent viruses the person is already carrying, everything from mono to chronic fatigue syndrome. It never goes away and just plagues people the rest of their lives, basically.
Touring conditions being less than hygenic and healthy, Frank gets sick a lot. It's happened MCR's entire career, but only lately has it been a big deal to the point where he's had to miss dates. Probably because their schedule is getting tighter and more insane with every tour and he has no time to recover from EBV flare-ups.
Poor Frank. Get well soon! D:
His guitar tech, Matt Cortez, is filling in (for those that didn't watch the video of Gerard announcing it). Matt's pretty awesome, and he and Frank look startlingly similiar. They could be very close brothers, seriously! O.o It's funny.

It must suck having that virus.
He's had a virus since childhood. But he hasn't gotten sick like this, I mean, not continually.
Since childhood? Damn, might be time to get some antibiotics.

at least he doesn't have that shitting disease like the dudes in glassjaw and saves the day. that's the last thing you want to have if your a touring musician.

Yeah, he was lying down while playing guitar.

It doesn't go away, I was diagnosed with it a few years ago. Mine isn't nearly as bad as his seems to be, though.

By a the reports on the MCR livejournal from people who were at the gig, he was more sitting down/kneeling at the back of the stage. Sometimes leaning down or doubling over, like he was queasy. Basically he just looked miserable. He even had his uniform jacket off the whole time. Then at the end of the Black Parade set, someone came out and draped him in a towel and helped him offstage. Then Matt came out for the MCR set, looking kind of dazed and rushed.

What? What can anyone really do to deserve getting sick? Especially Frank... Does he deserve to go home early and face disappointing fans, nobody deserves to be sick. What did you mean by that?

The site is Buzznet, and no, it's not 100% reliable. However, if you look through the rest of the comments I believe you'll find a video of Gerard making the announcement that Frank was sick and was leaving the stage for the last half of the show. Beyond that no one is quite sure what's up.
Posts on MCR's livejournal from people associated with the Skeleton Crew (Frank's label/design company) have said it was food poisoning. The band themselves haven't given 100% confirmation to anything, yet.

again? man. i was going to make some comment about how it's getting rediculous and hes probably going to be leaving the band soon, but then i read all about that virus thing hes got. i had no idea. hope he gets better soon, whether the virus is related to this latest illness or not. hes always been my favorite guy in the band.

I submitted this, and I agree with you - Buzznet isn't really a reliable news source. I had read about this in the journal of a friend who saw one of their recent shows, and then saw the Buzznet feature, and figured I may as well include a link to something to prove I wasn't pulling this out of my ass.
Also, I believe somebody on Buzznet's staff is touring with the band, or something? I think one of their girlfriends/fiances/whatevers is one of the chosen worship objects over there, too, so maybe that's what I'm thinking of. (I dunno, I avoid that kind of stuff like the plague, usually.) Either way, that makes their MCR news a bit more credible. *shrug*

I wish the sentence would have ended a bit earlier:
"Frank Iero of My Chemical Romance is leaving the band"
He's the only one I can tolerate in that band.

Okay thanks, this makes a little more sense. Like someone else said, I can't imagine someone playing guitar entirely laying down for a whole set. God, I can't imagine why he played this show to begin with, he was obviously in horrible shape.
Oh and PS - that random "karma is a bitch" comment is just plain stupid. Nothing else to really say to such an idiotic statement.

i really don't like the way gerard behaves on stage. he really seems like he's trying to be so big and god like now that they are regarded as being a big band. the last two album were pretty horrible anyways imo.

I'm getting very worried. This is the second time. I think he really should take a break to recover fully. I think he rushed it going back on tour as soon as he recovered. I rarely pray...but I'll be praying tonight. I'm tearing up...

Ok, at Wembley on Friday he was really sick - food poisoning - so had to leave the stage and have his tech finish off. Gerard said "we've sent him home" by which he meant "off to the tour bus for sleep" - and that was interpretted as "he's going off the tour".
Then he was at the Dublin show on 1st April, and at the Koko show last night (2nd April) he was absolutely on top form and having a ball on stage (possibly in no small part due to the fact that his fiancée flew out to be with him).
It was recorded for TV, so I'm sure it'll make its way on youtube, for anyone who will be interested.

Oh yeah because a single word can do those things to people. I have friends who say "y'all" in every sentence but I don't think any less of them because of a single word. I think it's immature and uneducated to think less of someone because of their diction without actually knowing them.
