yeah i just read how it ended, pretty lame. and surprise surprise that vince lost and undertaker won. and why did that kennedy guy win money in the bank? they have no idea what they're doing or how to promote guys that actually have some charisma.

im sooo happy that kennedy won, the mitb match was out of control (kennedy and hardy stole the show). taker winning and mcmahon loosing was expected. im fucking tired of cena, melina, and khali though. it was also incredibly lame that there wasnt a tag team match or cruiserweight match. hopefully tna will hold a better ppv in lockdown

This was a pretty weak Wrestlemania overall. The Undertaker/Batista match was probably the best of the night. The Benoit/MVP match was surprisingly well done too. The Money in the Bank match had some cool moves (especially the Jeff Hardy leg drop off the ladder to Edge on the other ladder), but overall the match wasn't as great as it could've been. Most of the other matches were pretty boring/dissapointing/just not interesting enough for me to care about.

halifaxonfire
04/01/07, 10:54 PM
cena is the worst headliner ever. dude goes through every match getting his ass kicked then comes back with 4 moves in the end to win it every time. this match was a little bit better than usual, but not much.

i will give it up to cena and mvp for being better than usual tonight but now i have to look forward to them being around for much longer. michaels had a tough time carrying cena through a match tonight, i really wanted kennedy to use his mitb to end takers streak after he beat batista.

trump is a terrible actor.

the whole match he said 3 words to lashley.

and waved his fist the whole time.

and his tackle and slaps to mcmahon were beyond weak

His other repeated phrase in the match was 'Shake it off, Bobby.' That was basically it for him. His scene with the Boogeyman was pretty pointless too.

'If you bring me a sandwich, I'll give you some worms.'
'Worm sandwiches?'

pointless, but hilarious...

also, i feel like everyone is neglecting to mention the appearance of Fit Finaly's midget, and the fact that Mr. Kennedy won the MITB match because he was the only person in the ring who wasn't too big of a pussy to ruin a midget's shit. clearly he pitched the idea of beating a midget to the WWE writers, and they were awed by his greatness so they had no choice but to have him win.

midget beating... classic.

also, that edge injury looked pretty fucking real to me. you could see the ref throw up the X, which for anyone who doesn't know, means there's an actual injury.

benoit and mvp was ok i guess.

lumberjill match... i liked it. it gave me time to go take a shit before the main event.

trump getting stunned was funny, but i would have rather seen lashley defend his title against somebody with a good gimmick, and some talent.

the ecw match was a joke. i think if the wwe has any respect for what ecw was, they'll get rid of it, and just keep the few people that are any good... probably lashley, cm punk, rvd, sabu, and maybe kevin thorne... maybe...

taker's win was predictable, but nonetheless classic. i've personally always been creeped out by battista's disproportionately(i butchered that word) small head, so i'm glad he lost.

fuck cena, and fuck khali. everybody is sick of cena. my friend was at wrestlemania, and he said the boos when cena won were just overwhelming. i'm fucking sick of khali. if i wanted to see women getting slapped around by the mentally retarded i would just go to alabama.

The constant desire to make Alabama the shithole of the country never ceases to amaze me. I imagine that very few of the people making these kinds of comments have even stepped foot in the state. Whether or not they have done so is irrelevant, Alabama is not the state to visit if you want to see "women getting slapped around by the mentally retarded." You can visit any one of the 50 states for that. Goodness, people. I don't doubt that you were just making an off-hand remark, likely with hopes that you'd get a chuckle or two, but this is getting ridiculous and I can't just sit by while my home state is consistently mocked by people who don't have the slightest clue. It's not a glorious state, but it does not deserve to be pointed out for constant ridicule, at least not for the idea which you have presented.

It was a decent show. I bought it and it's the first wrestling PPV I've bought in around six years or so. The MITB was pretty good. I'm a huge CM Punk fan and have been since before his WWE days. I was really wanting him to win. Kennedy winning it wasn't a huge surprise, but I was still hoping Punk would pull it off somehow. The Cena/HBK match was good despite me not liking Cena. It's better than the HHH/Cena match from last year and HBK did a piledriver on Cena on the steel stairs. Overall, it was a pretty solid show that I think was worth watching. Was it worth $50? Probably not, but curiosity ended up getting the best of me.

17 was the last good wrestlemania. Since then it's been very predictable and now that they've gone away from the generation vs generation matches they're realizing there's not much talent left on their roster. Charisma is severely lacking among the newer stars and there's no characters being developed anymore. They desperately need TNA to succeed because there's no incentive for them to reinvent the wheel.

That's not necessarily true. Everyone who either leaves the WWE or gets released ends up in TNA. They get pushed heavily upon their arrival and then usually wind up falling into midcard hell. I haven't watched TNA in quite awhile, but that was one of my main pet peeves of that promotion. The other being that they tried to cram way too many matches into an hour show. Why not have three or four really good decent length matches than try to cram everyone in every week? TNA is on the right track, but I don't think they've found their niche yet.

Triple H needs to come back to save the WWE,

They need to not have him and Shawn Michaels fight and break up DX, them two together, making fun of everyone else, is the only good acting/entertainment the WWE currently has to make it watchable.

But I have a feeling when Triple H comes back he or Michaels will turn and they will fight eachother and DX will die again as usual. Sigh. Idiot writiers.

Sleepaway

You're slightly mistaken. TNA does allow their talent to work independent shows, but the wrestlers who do work indy shows have to let TNA do the booking. That's what I've read anyway. I'm a wrestling moderator on a few boards, so I have to keep up with this kind of stuff. That's why guys like Christopher Daniels and AJ Styles are still doing ROH shows. Kurt Angle just did an NJPW show not too long ago after he signed with TNA. Samoa Joe just left and now Colt Cabana just signed a development deal with WWE, so they're losing him as well.

Joe's goodbye show was amazing and so sad at the same time.

ROH is basically what I always wanted to see years ago when I watched WWF/E and WCW. The only place I could see some of the in ring action like that was ECW, which of course now has shit all over it's name.

I was into TNA the first several years it was around, and now I see it and it's sad how much they still don't understand they must be different to really succeed.

Like you said, ROH owns and it is the best company in the U.S. today, hands down. Incredible work rate and action. I need to order some of the new DVD's.

Well TNA is the reason Joe left ROH, and the reason Homicide lost the title, which got me rather angry since I'm a huge mark for him. It's only recently, but it's happening. I get it, TNA is trying to protect their investment. They have a lot of high-flying stuff which the wrestlers will undoubtedly do in other promotions too. It's just rather stingy. I mean, how much do you see AJ, Daniels, Shelley and Sabin in ROH anymore? Hardly ever.

I don't think it will matter at the moment. ROH looks set to do another company/company thing with NWJP and Dragon's Gate from the current champs, and they are always bringing new talent into the company.

As for Colt, I can't wait. It's doubtful, but I hope he and CM will tag up again. Colt is so awesome to watch.

i think its much better with all three brands included in ppvs when it comes to buy rates.

in california we see sabin and shelley regularly as motor city machine guns and now their back in roh in the same team. TNA just doesnt seem to know how to run storylines in an effective way. every story line leaves me scratching my head wondering what just happened. and running them for far too long. like how long are we going to see LAX (a very good TV tag team with konnan on the mic) get chased by team 3d (a team thats been out of their prime in 2002) with all these stupid gimmick matches. i just lost all hope for TNA being a major competitor for WWE (even though WWE is very shitty lately)

I would love to see AJ turn on cage and take the title again. or to build up daniels correctly and put a title on him. they did a shitty job building joe which lead to his lost at the last ppv.

i just think tna spotlights the shitty veterans more than they should. which wcw did. and why they are dead. tna will follow. especially with russo involved.

I haven't watched either for awhile but a copule months ago I couldn't stand RAW due to having TERRIBLE matches, not to mention very few of them. SmackDown! was constantly putting on fantastic matches and overall shows for that matter. The booking on SmackDown!, at least months ago was far better and much more for a smark and a wrestling fan, RAW is for marks and sports entertainment fans. I have no doubt both may suck now though.

I watched the beginning of Impact last night and just couldn't stand to watch the rest even though Senshi vs. Aries was coming up I believe.

I think it's time to break out some ROH and classic ECW tapes today.

As for the last thing that you said; TNA started out looking like a WCW carbon copy, I mean when they first started, weekly Wednesday PPV's. Slowly they began to really mold themselves into something different that you could see on TV, it was basically indy wrestling on TV. I mean as far back as when Killings had the title and we found out WWE painted a gimmick on him when actually he was very talented in the ring. Slowly though they have gone back to looking like WCW once again and I agree they will go nowhere if they keep it up. I don't think they will fold, however as long as guys like Tomko, Steiner and Sting have a spot on the roster, they will just stay where they are.

The X-Division is basically WCW's cruiserweights; it's the one fantastic thing about a very mediocre product, which Bischoff did take the idea of bringing them in from ECW, thats a different story though.

The "goofy" factor that TNA has also hurts them in my opinion. A possibly electric steel cage match? Is this CZW? Now I love good hardcore action but that match is just too much of a gimmick for Team 3D and at least another great wrestler, Homicide. Same thing with King of the Mountain and any other random thing they do to try and be like WWE, but different. Once again, to go forward they must ignore WWE, just like WWE ignores them. Ultimate X is great, it was original and it's TNA's, however, they can't over use it though.

Okay, thats enough for now. :-)

they wont fold right away at least.

elevation x was not only a stupid idea but highly dangerous.

as far as hardcore wrestling goes, the only thing i liked that was anywhere close was the ROH VS. CZW Cage of Death at Death Before Dishonor IV. Mixed story lines and had some insane spots in such a small area. plus super dragon in the 100th show six man was insane how he did a pyscho driver on BJ through that table. thats about as hardcore as i can handle. so leave the weedwackers and live wires and shit to CZW and the now folded WSX.

Ulitmate X was the greatest thing TNA has ever done.

its cool to know theres is other people who know what they are talking about other than Vince here.

By real I'm assuming you mean smarks and not marks?

The word "smark" always bugs me, because it is a dated reference, really. And, it was originally an insulting term. But whatever :-)

i think its much better with all three brands included in ppvs when it comes to buy rates.

in california we see sabin and shelley regularly as motor city machine guns and now their back in roh in the same team.

I agree completely. One episode, a storyline or two will be built up, and like that it will be gone. I remember how much "The Austin Starr" was hyped, and he came out and owned everyone at Bound For Glory. Now where is he? Getting chickenwinged on every episode of Impact by someone who shouldn't even be on the show.

To be honest, if you've seen one TNA PPV, you've seen them all. Or at least that's the feeling I get nowadays.

Aries can be a main event player if given a proper push imo. his ring ability is excellent and could hang along side the current main eventers. This whole Jeff Jarrett Return/ "Babyface" is a terrible idea. The guy can never play a credible face.

Russo is pretty much killing TNA...very slowly.

Still the only way I can split the two up.

there making the same mistake as wcw did
getting two many washed up wwe stars
its ridiculous

Fuck The Rock.

If you're the best on the stick ever in the business but can't actually wrestle or put a damn sharpshooter on the right way then you should take your ass to L.A. and stay there.

cena is the worst headliner ever. dude goes through every match getting his ass kicked then comes back with 4 moves in the end to win it every time. this match was a little bit better than usual, but not much.

Sounds just like Hulk Hogan

I like what I've seen of Austin Aries, which is one of the reasons I don't watch him in TNA. Both him and Alex Shelley have been made to look like goofballs. If you've seen any of their stuff outside of TNA, then you know they are both incredibly talented in the ring. It just seems like TNA is all in a rush to sign all the talent they can, but then have nothing for them once they're signed. I haven't watched TNA in ages. I think the last match I watched was the first Angle/Joe match from...whichever PPV it was.

I watch the PPVs but I don't watch Impact anymore. There's no point. It's just squash matches, huge X Division matches with ridiculous spots and too many promos and interviews. I'll watch Lockdown, which I hope will be good. Last year's Lockdown was amazing, and this year's has a Wargames style match which is interesting.

agreed. the only thing the rock had going for him was charisma and mic skills. the guy couldn't wrestle a match to save his life, and a lot of his great matches were carried by his opponent who could actually execute more than 3 moves and do it properly.

although i'm not going to lie; i would love to see him return. even just to cut a promo.

I always preferred Chris Jericho on the mic. I just thought he was funnier. Some of his promos with Stephanie and Kurt were so fun to watch. And he could wrestle.

He did that just a few weeks ago. He showed up on the Titantron and cut a promo about Vince being bald after Wrestlemania. It was quite an awesome surprise since I always enjoyed his promos.

I agree. Jericho was an all around better performer, wrestler, and entertainer than The Rock was. At least in my eyes, he was. I'm hoping he'll return soon. Even though he doesn't really have much left to accomplish in the wrestling world, Raw is still hurting without him.

its sad when the guy not even on the roster STILL outshines everyone on the current roster.

the guy hasnt lost his charisma and mic skills/

One of my favorites ever, to go along with Bret Hart. Technically sound, yet Jericho on the stick is classic. I marked like a eight year old when watching the first One Night Stand, not only did he wrestle Lance Storm but he was Lionheart, Chris Jericho.

Damn I will have to watch that match tonight.
