to kill this

Inching closer to your body
I slowly lower my shield
But I've been here before
and it's like hidin in an open field
trying to depend on my stubborness,
as a wall against, those eyes
travel from holdin mine
and down to my thighs
I can't breathe.
But I can't shake.
I can't move.
Stuck here in this moment forever longing for you.
Thoughts racing through my mind,
cause a throb of hope in my blood
I do it all the time,
this rush, this flood
of red that colors my cheeks
with only a blush that you could paint on me
i want to move my hand and cover yours with warmth,
my skin on your skin
but i can't move
stuck in glue
stuck in you
sucked into, sucked into...
and it hurts so bad
to think that those aren't even your hands...
covered in memories
of holding other hearts
but it could be worse, much worse
i could show you how much it hurts
but i'd rather just dust this off, this dirt
and pretend this isn't a mess,
that we tried our best
that we landed on our feet
pretend this isn't a miss
your lips, this kiss
that we didn't just lather, rinse, repeat
I slowly lower my shield
But I've been here before
and it's like hidin in an open field
trying to depend on my stubborness,
as a wall against, those eyes
travel from holdin mine
and down to my thighs
I can't breathe.
But I can't shake.
