View Full Version : The Quiet Things That No One Ever Knows
Problems? Where do you find the right things to say. I try to remind myself to apperciate the life I lead and I quote The Starting Line....Or "Even when we extend ourselves it's only to be included in a world that's standing still"...I mean there are alot of things out there that are capable to relating to us. Whats some of your guys' favorite song lines?

ohhhh
i really like....
"reports of lover's trysts, were niether clear nor discript."
i dont know why. but i love that line. i guess cause i always hear about people hooking up but there is never any real details. and although the song isnt about that the line can be seen that way.

the best song lyrics are the ones that make you stop for a second and just say "wow" the first time you hear them
i know this one is over-done but the "you could slit my throat, and with my one ;ast gasping breath i'd apologize for bleeding on your shirt" by tbs just gave me chills thje first time i heard it.
the chorus to "standing on the edge of summer" by thursday was also a big "wow" for me.
the lyrics to "So strange that i remember you" by thrice are great. just the whole song.

"So we stay on the open road.
We drive for hours and still no end in sight at all.
Driving in your car
miss the stop sign, fall in love
just to get knocked out"
I'm not a big Thursday fan, but I love that

yeah. the whole song is just amazingly well written. the thing i love most about thursday;s lyrics is their ability to take a metaphor and carry it through an entire song or chorus. "standing on the edge of summer" uses the comparison of a card game to a relationship
and in "understanding" the whole song likens the loss of a lvoed one to watching a car crash.

Ten seconds left
until midnight
nine chances to drown ourselves
in black hair dye
eight faces turned away
from the shock:
seven windows and six of them
were locked
five stories falling
forever and ever
three cheers to the mirror
now there are two of us
can we have one last dance?
How long can we take this chance not to celebrate life?
That is one of my favourite lyrics ever. Thursday have such amazing songs.
Hey....GO check it out.....EVERYBODY>>>>>>

you can sleep in your own bed tonight
sleep away as summer came screaming out my name
you can sleep in your own bed tonight
i hope for your sake that you dont wake up as broken as i am
for the lack of better
words to say
all i said was goodnight
once again
in self defense i wont sleep a wink
to prevent dreaming of you
from The Starting Line-A Goodnight's Sleep

I hate to join in on the Thursday ass-kissing, but in that one song... the last real song on Full Collapse where he says:
It's all I have [and his voice cracks]
To live for. (to live for)
(ahh...)
I'm falling down, and you're not here, to break my fall.
I close my eyes to... whatever...
I dont have it memorized, altho I knew it better at one point. I just love how it sounds more than anything when his voice is cracking because of the emotion.

Actually the song is written about his friends who died in a car crash lik ten minutes after they hung out, so it isn't a metaphor. :D

Anything by Thrice or Thursday... chorus for Standing on The Edge of Summer is my favorite Thursday lyric, and my favorite Thrice would have to be the one in my sig... but then again the chorus from T&C is great too...
"And every time I play with passion I start breaking strings
and my voice cracks when I sing from my heart
guess that's the price I've got to pay to know that I'm still alive
this melody is tearing me apart"
Me and my friend were jamming writing a song that had strong feelings near the end and one of his strings broke... and when i screamed my voice cracked, so I really like that line.

That part makes me cream myself. I want to go hug him...and console him with hot sweaty sex.
