The Band: Straylight Run
Band Website: www.straylightrun.com
Band:
John Nolan (ex-TakingBackSunday) - Vocals, Guitar
Michelle Nolan - Vocals Guitar
Shaun Cooper (ex-TakingBackSunday) - Bass
Will Noon (Breaking Pangaea) - Drums
What are your opinions of this band? What do you want to happen with them? What would you like to see?
Personally, I think this band has so much potential with such great talent. Will is an amazing drummer and we all know how talented John and Shaun are. Also, if you have Taking Back Sunday's "Tell All Your Friends," then you know just how beautiful Michelle's voice is. All the ingredients are there for success and amazing music. I just hope they capitalize on all the talent they have and make great music/albums.
Also, I would love to see Jesse get involved with this. I know he won't be IN the band, but I'd love to see him track some guest vocals and/or write some songs with John. I'm sure we'll hear a song or two about Adam/TBS and the whole situation. I also wouldn't be surprised if there was another "Seventy Times 7" and "There's No I In Team" situation (meaning each band writes a song about each other as well as maybe even incorporate the other's lyrics into their individual songs when performing them live). This is all going to be interesting when everything pans out. So sit back and just you wait!!!

I know we have some Taking Back Sunday fans who are curious to see what John Nolan and Shaun Cooper come up with during their future endeavors. Me, personally, I am really anxious about this project. John Nolan is a genius when it comes to song writing and music in general and I'm sure they'll cook up something very exciting. C'mon....Post some of your ideas/opinions!!!
i think it will be good. but since there is no music yet i cant really judge.
We can't judge yet, but i'm thinking this should turn out amazing.

I dont think John has a strong enough voice to carry this band...they need a better vocalist. But its a great idea to include his sister in the band...The mixture of male/female vocals should be awesome. (But who would want their sister hanging around all the time?)
it's gonna sound kinda like SoCo musiclaly i am guessing. cause john says it has paino in every song. but i could be way wrong. go read the interview! tate just posted it...

i'm anticipating greatness from this band. what else could be expected from a musician of john's caliber? i'm glad and relieved that he and shaun got started on a new project so soon. good for them. and for whoever said that john 'can't carry the band with his voice' is mistaken. although i never had the pleasure of seeing taking back live, i've been a fan since the beginning and i've heard, countless times, that john usually carries the entire live show because adam occupies himself with that swing of his and getting down into the crowd rather than actually singing. so who knows. we shall see. but i put 20 dollars on the table betting they turn out to kick ass.

1. Before Adam's injury, this was true. Since then, he's toned down all the going crazy on stage jazz and actually sung a note. I had the pleasure of seeing John's last show with TBS. Even throughout that, John was consistently strong vocally, barely wavering at all. Personally, I prefer John's voice over Adam's. This band I imagine will be a bit softer then TBS but not shitty pop-punk like Greg said.
2. Shorten your fucking sig it's getting annoying.
